Forums - Sony Discussion - Metal Gear Solid 4 gets trophy support

Vita version with exclusive bonus content. You heard it here first.

Isn't the game like 50GB? I thought Vita cards only go up to 4GB? So you'd have like 13 game cards come with it! Awesome! Of course if you get the downloadable version you'd only need two 32GB cards and you'd be all set! ;-p

To bad they didn't keep Metal Gear Online, introducing online trophies would of probably gotten more people playing it longer.

Anyway, time to replay....oh god! the microwave scene, oh god SNAKE move!! :'(

Man, I hope they improve the game's load times by letting you install more of it to the HDD, too. A bunch of little things took away from the overall enjoyment of the game but I'd gladly play through it again for old time's sake. Currently playing through the HD collection on the Vita and I'd like to finish the series in style.

YES! Confirmed!

I can't believe it's coming after all this time. Someone ask about FFvsXIII or something please.

I wonder if trophy support could mean they've been working on an Xbox 360 version with achievements. Maybe the announcement will connect people with Kinect ;) or through reaching the other half of the market who doesn't have a PS3.

It will requires multiple discs, but Metal Gear Solid is divided into chapters so it should work. Still, highly unlikely, it's been 4 years and has already sold very well.

Can't wait for this if it's true, I know it sounds stupid, but I've started a "flawless" playthrough about 10 times now and never finished it, knowing I will earn a few gold trophies at the end could make the difference.

I thought we got past that myth!  MGS doesn't have that much content.  It's a pretty short game with tiny environments and uncompressed audio.

So is Final Fantasy XIII.

Aren't the cutscenes pre-rendered, they're 1080p, so if not, Kojima needs a medal.

it appears to be true.

from andriasang.com
"Update: This report does appear to be true! The Trophy support will be included out the box with a 3,990 yen "PlayStation 3 The Best" budget version of MGS4 in August. Current MGS4 owners will be able to patch their copy of the game."

I think that, only the "frying eggs" are pre-recorded.  The rest should be in game because, no matter when they appear, Snake is wearing what you equipped him with before and you can change his camo by shaking the controller.  I didn't know they were all 1080p, though.  I'll have to look into that.  This was the game that made me stand in line at midnight to buy a PS3 combo.  My high expectations weren't reached with this one.  I had to buy Uncharted a week later to show people what the PS3 could really do.  Even if it was 1080p, the game was pretty inconsistent, looking absolutely stunning at times and then like a really good PS2 game at others.

Kojima is just the master troll, honestly. There has to be a reason behind this......MGS5 hints through the patch, maybe? I can dream. And you know the trophy names are gonna be great.
