When taking my 3DS with me to and from work. 1 of which is during rush hour, in public transit.

By that, I would have streetpassed a lot of people if the 3DS were actually popular.

I also hardly ever see people playing on a 3DS other than small children.

Months ago, I would streetpass at least 1 person per day to/from work.

So, I could only conclude, base on my personal experience, that, the 3DS is doomed to gather dust at home.

Streetpass features failed hard on getting people to carry their 3DS on the go. People would rather play shooting birds on their iPad Nanos than on a 3DS.

To be fair, I also don't see anyone carrying a Vita. So, it's as much doomed as the 3DS is around here.

It all depends on exactly when you're travelling, how you're travelling, and where you're travelling to/from. For instance, I walked around Brisbane (the city itself) for most of the day, about a week ago, and got 6 hits. Of those, four happened in roughly a 20 minute period.

Actually. It's because the 3ds appeal to small child that it is not as doom as the vita. Parents are more likely to buy a 3ds to their children than a smartphone. Also grown up people have smartphones so they are less likely to buy a vita to play on the go.

But we must first concentrate ourselves on the way to entertain people, for video games to live. Else, it's a world where sales representative will win, which has as effect to kill creativity. I want to say to the creators all around the world:"Courage, Dare!". Shigeru Miyamoto.

so the ds was also doomed? i was almost everytime the only one carrying a nds while travelling but somehow the ds was bought quite a lot... i don't really see a difference to the ds.

It really depends on where you are. I always get a few hits when I'm at the San Diego Zoo or SeaWorld. I also just vacationed to Las Vegas and I hit up four people just by walking through one hotel, which means that there are people taking their 3DS with them on vacation.

Also, if you work at a high school you are always bound to StressPass with fellow classmates who are illegally bringing their 3DS to school just for the sake of StreetPassing (heck, there are even Facebook groups dedicated to 3DS StreetPassing at certain high schools). I used to work at a library, and if it was right after school ended, I would often get a few StreetPasses at a time.

Lol around here if you carried a handheld around people thought you were a nerd, and noone carried them around. Sure is the same for all the handhelds though. Also do not see anyone playing any game on any apple device either. So all is doomed.

Still get a steady flow of street pass hits, and a fair few of those hits were whilst working in plumstead (hardly as busy as say the west end for example)

Also i work nights, so i'm not exactly out and about on the street at what most people would consider "normal" times.

3DS is still strong.

So you use your 3DS to pick up little children? I see....

*pedobear seal of approval*

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

meh, when I walk around central London, I get 10 streetpass hits easily. Quite often I will get multiple full streetpass lists, sometimes even as much as 30. And that's excluding when I went to the Zelda concert and got in excess of 100 last October

I don't pass/see anyone playing any handhelds.

..Becuase I don't go outside. c:

Yay!!!
