Sometimes I think "Nintendo can't continue relying on the same franchises over and over again to keep them going for the future, there's got to be a breaking point where people get tired of it". And you know what, there just isn't.

2D Mario has proved that with a formula that works, people will just never get tired of it. I suspect a lot of new fans find it as an entry-level point and don't go back to the older games, too.

I feel like a couple of their IP's are getting kinda tired (Animal Crossing perhaps?) but we'll see how they do. We'll certainly see some 20+ million sellers out of Wii-U I would imagine.

2D Mario can sell 20M on the right system, so can Mario Kart. WiiU isn't THAT system.

Why is Wii U not that system? MK:DD!! still sold great on the NGC despite it being a poor HW seller.

Yep. Add in weaker exclusive titles, crappier performance and crappier online and that's exactly what it is. Considering what the PS2 was that's a huuuuuugggggeee drop.

No. DS didn't share many titles with PSP.

Man this guy is really delusional... I just don't understand why this guy thinks Nintendo will lose all of it's appeal to everyone over night. People still want Mario Kart, Mario, Pokemon, Smash Bros, Zelda, Metroid, Kirby, Donkey Kong, Pikmin, Animal Crossing, Wii Universe games... and those are just the first party games... So yeah I doubt they would go fully down the tube

I haven't forgot.

Nintendo games include new IP that blows away anything/everything. Pokemon, Wii Sports, Wii Fit not Nintendololand.
