Not me, but I've seen a let's play on Youtube of a dude who finished FFXIII without using the crystarium. Absolute madness.

How is that even possible? The normal battles later on in the game are as hard as some boss battles!

I think they upgrade the weapons a lot, but I've heard he made it to Oerba without upgrading anything. It actually says a lot about how flexible the game's battle system is. Search for it, I'm sure you can find it easily.

But how could you even get passed the Aster Protoflorian without any upgrades?! That boss is super freaking hard!

Lol, I'm not the one who beat the game without upgrades. I said in my origianl post that I saw someone do it, and there are plenty of forums online. But I haven't done it, I'm not as crazy as to try that out. Anyway:

And yeah, it's apparently possible to beat the whole story and all missions except for a couple.

No troll is too much for me to handle. I rehabilitate trolls, I train people. I am the Troll Whisperer.

I know you aren't the guy who did that. xD

I just don't see it though, that game was really hard for me later on.

Well, if you're curious and you don't mind losing 50h of your life then you can see how it's done from beginning to end on YT.

Anyway, I don't want to derail this thread any further :/

I tried playing Dead Space, but I gave up because I was too scared of getting scared, and I wasn't having fun by forcing myself to play the game.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

The only self-imposed challenge I think I've ever done was playing Pokémon. It's not the Nuzlocke Challenge, just something I made up for myself to make the games a bit more interesting. Still only two rules, though: knocking out wild pokemon is not allowed (so no grinding; experience can only be gained against trainers), and I cannot use more pokemon in a battle than my opponent.

It's a simple way to really enforce the strategy aspect of the games and prevent myself from being lazy and using my starter in every fight. I do usually have to drop my rules and grind like a mother when I get to the Elite 4 though, haha.

I tried forever to do a no-hit run of Mike Tyson's Punch-Out for NES. Closest I came, three different times, was beating the game only getting hit once, always by Mike Tyson in Round 2. What a bastard.

Mike is a bachtardo. No hit means no losing points, or no him touching you at all?

Doing Xenoblade without equipping changing armour, gems, Arts (i.e. no levelling) and doing no sidequests.

I gave up after Fallen Arm.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Getting all the purple coins in the Luigi-Mario plate level with flipping blocks. (Luigi's Purple Coins)

Without using a walkthrough or watching a movie like this. Needless to say, I never made it.

No actually getting punched.  It's impossible to do a full playthrough without blocking.

I can finish the game without ever blocking, except the one time where Mike does his five-jab combo in round two.
