I don't know. Maybe the low price makes the Vita look too expensive in comparison? On top of that there's a lot more to consider. Even if cutting the price meant $50 less per console it also meant (a lot?) more consoles plus software sold.

I place my bet on 'yes'.

This is a tough bet...The "bros", "dudes", kids, and huge number of people who indignantly think the Xbox is "super competitive" platform could sway this in their favor...I think it could go either way.  I will be a no help for either as I will likely end up with both.
