Forums - Politics Discussion - So, who here will avoid Oreos because of a rainbow one produced for ad campaign?

i used to just dump a bunch of oreos into a glass of milk and then eat them with a spoon when they have absorbed enough milk. the outside becomes soft and the inside becomes hard and they are so delicious.

Starbucks did a similar thing some time ago and came out in support of gay marriage, it worked out very well for them. I seem to remember that their brand popularity actually increased dramatically as a result of it - 30,000 people signed a petition in support of the boycott, but 650,000 people signed a counter petition in support of Starbucks.

This will probably be good for Oreos. They will temporarily lose a few bigoted customers but replace them tenfold with people who support them like Starbucks did, while offering their support to a very important social issue.

As I read your comment, I read it in my mind to sound like Data in your avatar picture.

I don't keep up with oreos enough to know there was a gay pride campaign. The only thing I know is don't sit down with a bag of oreos after smoking a bunch of weed. You will munch them all...

FUCK! i came into this thread expecting to find out they had made some actual rainbow oreos and was planning to run down to the store immediately to buy some. so disappointed. i havent had an oreo in years.

I think they might find that it has too many layers to be able to make.

When I saw that for the first time, I wasn't sure what that was.  For a moment, I thought it might of been some yarn or thread promotion.

I will avoid Oreo's because they're bad for you ... With that said I think it is a moronic decision by Kraft.

While most people buy similar products to what Kraft sells, most of their products are non-essential and target children/families which means that the bulk of their revenues probably come from two parent households with young children; and these people would tend to be significantly more socially conservative than average. Even if Kraft only upsets 1/3 of them, and only 1/3 of them boycott some of Kraft's goods, Kraft's sales and profits could be heavily impacted.

There are reasons why SC Johnson and Proctor and Gamble are so "pro-family" and don't touch social issues with a 10 foo poll ... The vast majority of there sales are to customers who are relatively socially conservative.

Sick of people shoving gay pride crap down people's throats. It's so stupid. Are people so low that they have to add a political message to cookies now? As a christian, I will never recognize their partnership despite what the government claims.

That's the beauty of it. With all these social reactionaries boycotting everything, soon they'll be forced to accept the future if they want to watch a hollywood-produced movie or buy food products (aside from Chik Fil-A)

Don't forget In and Out Burger... who happens to make the best burgers in the country.  (Actually I believe it was ranked number 1 overall fast food.)

Don't know what it is, but Super Christian people make some BAD ASS fast food.  Maybe they use better ingriedients.

That said... it's not like liberals don't boycott the crap out of stuff too... I mean, you mentioned it yourself just not to long ago in regards to Glen Back.

As for the OP.  If they ACTUALLY made Rainbow Oreos i'd probably be actually more likely to buy some.  That sounds badass.

Then again looking at the graphic... prolly not... too much cream, i was thinkin it was gonna be like a rainbow swirl Oreo.

Still, no issues here.

Five Guys all the way. Or are we strictly comparing fast food (which Five Guys doesn't quite qualify for).

Five Guys counts as fast food.  Really, I'd say In-Out beats them hands down though.  Five Guys only saving grace is they have all that customization.

Have you eaten at an In-Out?  Thought it was a west coast only thing.

Well and wait time... In-Out Burgers are ridiculious in that there are ALWAYS 25 people infront of you seemingly no matter when you go.

Yeah, i have never heard of them, but even going 20 minutes west of here over the border into Ohio and you find a lot of suddenly-strange chains.

Ha, have to go a lot farther then Ohio, I know cause as you may remember i used to live there.

The closest in and out burger to Pensylvania is Arizona.
