I'm really sad to hear this, for those of you who say the series couldn't develop into  a universe, Resistance: Retribution and Resistance 2 open up a hole world of possibilities. There are so many story lines they could do with the Cloven, the original Chimera (not hybrids!), the race which the Chimera fought for Earth X many years ago. I even preferred Resistance to Killzone :/

Maybe they will replace it with something better. I understand how a fan must feal about this, but the bright side is there is now place for another major AAA franchise. And if you like the FPS genre then the Santa Monica FPS might redeem the death of Resistance.

Yeah I suppose your right, I just really liked the universe was all, I thought it had huge potential :(

Multi platform?

Yay!!!

Rightfully so, Nihilistic shat all over the IP.

What is this Resistance 3 was  great nonsense about? The MP is what made Resistance popular and R3 MP was a gimped experience that tried too hard to be CoD.

Baseless claims are my favourite claims.

It's a good idea to end the franchise. Resistance was a good new IP, it sold good, but its time is over. There are plenty of other FPS, and there's no point in continue this series.

I still have to play a Resistance game, I was/am interested in it because it's made by Insomniac, but I'm not into FPS, maybe someday when a Trilogy Collection will be available....

Unless Sony farms it out to someone, I doubt there will be a trilogy, especially not on the PS4. This franchise is done for good.

I didn't want to mean a remaster, but a bundle of the first three games for a cheap price! :)

Dropping it is a good idea. It doesn't sell and isn't going in a direction where fans like it. The moral of the franchise has been drained and past users/fans have started to abandon the game. Lets face it, R3 was a flop and it should be the end of the franchise. They need to focus on a new story. They had a good theme with R3, but it never went anywhere. Big problem with the game. Also I think shooters are boring because they usually don't go anywhere. Be nice to get a FPS game with a start middle and end where it's resolved and you know their won't be anything else. Say a 1-3 game trilogy and that's it. Known from day one, and not brought back after the completion events in the last game.

But then again, it's asking for a lot for devs to grow balls to end a series that 'could be' huge. I just like things that end, no matter of sales of consumer desire for another game of that franchise.

I couldn't agree more!

You must hate my post then.  We gonna pretend Resistance was played for its totally bland campaign now?  Just like CoD right?  The multiplayer has nothing to do with why people like it.  The funny thing is R1/2 campaigns make CoD campaigns look like gold.

This game was made for people such as yourself.

kill it for all i care.

uncharted and killzone are better at being shooters and sell better anyways and overall the genre is really crowded with CoD, BF, ect to boot. they should kill socom as well honestly and then give some better variety ala things like playstation all stars, LBP racing when the library is much weaker. sony should take a stab at creating a 2D platformer too (not LBP with it's focus on play create share).

Nobody knows why Sony keeps going to them. They literally ruin everything they touch.
