In a way, your post is both good and bad from my P.O.V.

I tried Halo 3 (got it used on day 1!) the day it came out and I enjoyed it a lot.  I went back and got the Xbox originals but I never got around to playing them.  I got Halo Reach and I was pretty disappointed at the time but after playing it again a few weeks ago, I said to myself, "This is the best game, ever!"

We're almost done with Halo Anniversary (a good game considering it's from 2001--and a lot of fun!) and after that, we're gonna jump on Halo 2.  Hopefully, by next week, we'll be playing Halo 3 and ODST.  I was really looking forward to ODST because it's the only current gen Halo that I haven't played yet.  Hope I enjoy it more than you.  Suddenly, I'm pretty excited about Halo 4--and I don't even like FPS games!

ODST has a stellar single player campaign. Short but sweet. I played it through a second time right after finishing it the first time. And not even for achievments, I don't care about my gamerscore I just enjoyed it so much I felt like playing it again. The only Halo game I did that with before was Halo 2.

I love Doom,  I love wolfenstein 3D....  Infact I play those games atleast once a year even when they are older than the average vgchartz member but I am having fucking trouble to get into...



I really can't get into the game and I try so hard....For me it is bad because it is no fun and so dull...

Yeah, Marthon is a little overrated. I think Apple fans have hyped it up to be more than it is because back then there wasn't anything else for them to play. It has a much better story than Doom, but it's not as visceral or fun.

If you're looking for a classic alternative to Doom you should check out Star Wars Dark Forces. It's so freaking good.

Oh and a good spiritual successor to Wolfenstien is Rise of the Triad. Check it out, gory and fun.

I completely agree about the campaign part (well, and the multiplayer did kick ass). It was almost completely cinematic and left no room for exploration, imagination or whatever. FPS games should not be that much scripted in my opinion.

OT: Pretty much any demo I've tried out for the 360 with Black Ops probably on top. As for full games; Battlefield 2: Modern Combat.
