Wasnt talking about P3P or P1P, though I found P1P to be really good o.o.

Was actually talking about this persona: http://www.gamespot.com/shin-megami-tensei-persona-2-innocent-sin/

The game is pretty much almost identical to the original PS1 version with a few new additions and a new HUD.

Even though the original got a better score: http://www.gamespot.com/persona-2-innocent-sin/

But I guess its understandable as the reviewer might of been different.

(I didnt bother checking who reviewed it so apologies to that).

Yeah different reviewers. However, the reviewer's main complaint was that it was too dated, which I agree. Twelve years ago, it was fresh and exciting. Now, its mechanics definitely show its age. It's still a great game though, but it's hard to recommend to newcomers and modern gamers.

aren't most of the users on Gamespot Sony fans?

Nintendo fans dislike gamespot since the day of TP or maybe before that even

It's pretty even between PC, Sony and Microsoft fans. Nintendo fans are definitely the lowest...well at least at the forums I browse.

The review system altogether is just flawed. It seems like for a hyped game, anything under a 9 gets called a flop.

Should be more like:

10 - Absolute perfection, only maybe a game or two per generation hits this mark
9 - Amazing, should be played/bought by all
8 - Great game, and should be considered a success even for a highly hyped game
7 - Above average game, but a bit disappointing for a highly hyped game
6 - Average game, a disappointment for a sequel or hyped new IP
5- Mediocre, should be ignored except by hardcore fans of the series/genre...but a couple good patches might save it
3/4 - Really bad, borderline unplayable
1/2 - Horrid piece of shit, no amount of patches could save it
0 - Unplayable

you do know that GamrReview actually has a scale almost identical to this, right?

10 - Masterpiece/perfection
9 - Outstanding, Exemplary
8 - Great, Fantastic
7 - Good, enjoyable
6 - Decent, playable
5 - Meh, tolerable
4 - Bleh, unenjoyable
3 - Bad, unworthy
2 - Horrible, Unpleasant
1 - Terrible, unplayable
0 - Atrocious, Irredeemable.

I've yet to come across any games in our database that don't conform to these guidelines.  (aside from FFXIII, which got a 9...blech).  People need to stop whining about game review when honestly, Game review is the only review gauge that I see actually being honest and fair to its medium.

Yeah GameReview definitely has a system I can agree with. I should pay more attention to it for sure.

Metacritic has it at a 84 which is pretty good. A few 100 and a few 60s.

Not everyone has the same tastes. It's been a while since I've trusted the score of a single reviewer. The best reviews, in my opinion, are the reviews that describe the features, options, and discuss the entertainment value of the game.

For me, review scores scales change depending on the genre. I would take an 8/10 RPG over a 10/10 FPS anyday.

They give below average scores to some good games such as Star Ocean and Persona for the PSP.

Perhaps they need gamers that actually like Japanese games on their staff then....

same could be said for famitsu needing gamers that actually like western games on their staff

I'm very confused by this statement. They're not big difference between what they give western games and what reviewers here give. In fact, I think they gave Skyrim the highest review score last year.

besides gaming journalism is a joke.

Only took the second post to get the right answer.

I don't understand why the thread requires over 150 posts for people to realise that different people have different opinions, and that not everyone likes the same things...

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Why every thread is full of personal attacks? Turkish is a Sony fan and he is expressing his unhappiness against the low review score given by Gamespot. We see such topics from other users every now and then whenever a favourite game is given low score. If you are of different opinion, express that and don't attack personally.

@OP,
Since the game is sitting on 84% on Metacritic, I don't mind one or two low scores.

By the way, Is Gamespot owned by Microsoft? Not sure, but I think I have heard about it somewhere. Can someone please clarify?
