At the risk of sounding stupid.

Every time I ask what does Live offer than PSN doesn't, people only mention party chat and "lag free gaming". I still maintain the latter is not a worthy point, and the former is interesting but no one else seems to offer anything else.

So again, I'll ask again, what does Live have (apart from party/cross game chat)?

LOTS more demos, for one thing.  Almost everything that comes gamewise on XBox Live has a demo with it.  With Playstation Network, they shove a greater percentage onto Playstation Plus, and push demos as a feature of it.   For saving money, XBox Live Silver is the best way to go with things.  And Cross game chat is another biggy also.

A question.

What if you download these games while having PSN+ and stop having PSN+ a few months later? Would you still be able to play them or would you need PSN+ to play them...?

Nope.  You need PSN to be able to play games you didn't buy.  It is like Gamefly or Netflix in some of this regard, or what OnLive has.  You are paying a subscription model to access content.

Actually my financial situation made me rethink my Gold account, and downgrade to Silver.  I don't play online, and as nice as streaming of movies are, it just isn't worth it.  I miss out on a few bonuses.  I will say, outside of a few features, Silver is better than what I have with PSN, because demos are free.  With PSN, they put them in PS Plus and people have to pay for it.  There are exceptions, but I get more demos on XBL Silver than I do PSN.

Are you suggesting that demos are saved for plus members? If you are, you are incorrect.

It's only betas, only demos that get reserved are like once every 4months, even then it appears on normal psn about a week later.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

As I said before, you are incorrect "demos" are not a ps+ feature, you must be thinking of 1hr trials and even then those are for full games, not PSN games.

I didn't say that the PS3 didn't have any demos, just that the XBox 360 has more demos, LOTS more demos.  Even the XBL Indie games have demos for them.  The closest thing to Indie games are Minis on PSN, and I almost never see any demos of those.  You get a streaming video of it.

You have to have exposure to both XBox Live and PSN to be able to notice this as one of the differences.  It is because of how their business models are set up to pay for things. Microsoft uses Live to cover the cost of their network, Sony relies on purchases on their network.  This causes PSN to have less free content on it, and use of Playstation Plus, where they put stuff on there.

Do you even have an XBox 360?  Your game collection doesn't show any that I know of, so I would assume the answer is no. As someone who doesn't have Playstation Plus, I guess I was presuming it was better than I thought it was, in regards to demos.

That I'll agree with, demos as well as cross chat but if that's free to silver, it doesn't justify gold.

I don't own a 360, my only access to the 360 are my place of work and my cousin I'm a steamywii3 gamer

No.

Specific content and the odd game remain accessible once your subscription runs out, although it's not often. LittleBigPlanet remained free for me.

As for dropping XBL Gold, I'm considering it as I don't play online any more. I still wouldn't buy PS Plus though, I want control over what I'm buying. I might sell my Xbox entirely though, after buying a gaming PC I can't justify keeping it.

Somehow, I really doubt Turkish has an XBL account.

Doubt no further, go look for TurkishEmperor2, thats my gamertag, I have even more points and games on it than you do lol. Dont send any messages becoz I cannot access it, my 360 got RROD.

I don't think PS+ is worth the money either.  I guess it depends on what people get used out of on each, to ask if it is worth it.  PS+ and XBL Gold are different animals, so I guess if someone goes: "Let's see, I have $50-$60 a year burning a hole in my pocket, which should I do it on?" then maybe you compare the two.  But each is different, and based on whether you are XBox centric or PSN centric in your interest, it is easy to see the other side a rip off.

It is just, because of Gold, I get more as a person with Silver, factoring in my not doing what people use Gold for, which is to play games online with other people. I am fortunate that leaderboards and other asymetric play on XBox Live, works with silver.  I ran silver accounts with leaderboard competition at retro videogames and pinball over XBox Live, and it worked, and helped to build some community.  I even see Trials Evolution gives me tracking where other people on my friend list were on stunt tracks while racing.

Seems fair actually. I mean if people moan about XBL then MS would be forced to upgrade it gamer wise not entertainment wise. think about it.

Dont get me wrong. Im never going to give up my XBL subscription simply because it acts the fastest for me.

Yay!!!
