Bad PsWii60! You are turning him to even more of a monster! The horror!

LOL, That's actually pretty light trolling, not completely bannable; borderline bannable at best. Besides, there are much better trolls out there that turns it into art

Generation is dependent on when it arrived. Nintendo is launching first, so they're the first of the next generation - Wii launched after Xbox 360, and at the same time as PS3, they're the same generation. Unless PS4 launches around the time of the Wii U successor and Xbox 4, it will be the same generation as the 720 and Wii U. Generation has nothing to do with power at all - it's timing, and typically revolves around the leading company - which as of this generation and 250 million hardware units sold between Wii and DS, is Nintendo.

No one in their right mind would argue that the Atari Jaguar and N64 were a generation ahead of PSX because they were 64-bit while the PSX was only 32-bit.

To run another perspective:

Despite Arnold Schwarzenegger being much more powerful than David Bowie, they're still of the same generation.

Despite Katherine Schwarzenegger and Patrick Shriver being much less powerful than Arnold Schwarzenegger, they are still his children, and therefore the next generation.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

LOL, he still lacks the finesse in stealth trolling but by actually showing a quote, of all by Sony, shows some improvement. His poll also lacks creativity but he' getting there; gotta give him that

Please learn me how to make creative polls pleasssee :/

First and foremost have more than two options; have at least five.
Second, in poll trolling you have to have all options similarly themed, in this case, Nintendo bashing. No other options otherwise.
Third, have sarcasm
Four, a little humor
On that note, you always have to have 'Nintend0omed!'

Here are just an example (I'm sure somebody has better, but this is my style):

-Echo Boomers
-Millenial Generations (In US, these are the generation that pre-dates the Internet era for the most part; also essentially the same as Echo Boomers)
-Bieber Nation (Kids generation, and by referencing Bieber you can't go wrong in the trolling philosophy)
-Welcome to the Internetz, Nintendo! (Sarcasm)
-Nintend0omed! (The ultimate Nintendo trolling, the meme)

I used the first three choices because they are terms that not many people are aware about therefore it will require some Google'ing which some may not even get the reference, but this is the generation that introduced NES and SNES (on the subject of Nintendo).

And also, by quoting Sony, it shows that your poll is meant to be a joke as the OP would suggest Sony did in fact complimented Nintendo without ever actually comprimising their pride in falling third/last place this generation; hence my comment above "Apples vs Oranges". It's an argument of taste, which is obviously subjective.

Thanks! You really put thought in that comment! Next time I make a thread I'll try to provide as many lulz as I can! You be there and rate my thread :D

I.E. Despite Arnold Schwarzenegger being much more powerful than David Bowie, they're still of the same generation.

You just compared genetic/bio generation to a generation of technology....it doesnt work like that.

Have to agree.

If someone were to design a new console targeted at 8-bit retro gaming fans, based upon a 68k or similar 8 bit CPU, etc. and released it in 2012, it would not be an 8th gen console.

But, for the sake of historical records, every bit of new console hardware does have to be categorized as belonging to X generation of hardware, regardless of whether it's up to the minute current, or matured/dated technology. Hence, the Wii will be referenced as belonging to the 7th gen of hardware despite being based upon modestly updated 6th gen hardware specs.

As everyone knows, the real progress of the Wii over the GC was in the user input of the controller, not in the hardware specs of the box itself. Every attempt I've seen to convince anyone otherwise really just needs to look at the end results of the visuals of the games themselves to see the reality of the difference between "7th gen" Wii and 7th gen PS3/Xbox 360.

I'd have to agree. It is simple to think linear but many times things are actually 2D. All systems are moving forward in generations but they can also move side to side. The HD twins have gone right while the Wii went left. So far though the Wii U is switching things up as Nintendo decides to go right again. Interesting...

Nintendo's next gen doesn't start until Sony says so.

"But everything competes for consumers' time and money and attention."

Ok. Once they understand that, it's all cool.

4 ≈ One

@PsWii60
With the talk of harder moderation going on it could be banable!

Apparently Nintendo skewed the space-time continuum when it released the Wii.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

If it's 4 or more times more powerful than Wii U ( and it seems as if Sony is certainly intent on releasing a powerful console next gen), then PS4 ( and Nextbox ) should be considered to be in their own gen.
