Got to love how my favorite two teams (Germany and Netherlands) are in the same group, anyway the only really interesting match to me this week is Denmark vs Netherlands.

interesting, because they are the biggest foes you can think about^^

Personally as a Dutchman I hate Portugal a whole lot more. Last world cup I'd rather have gone out against Brazil, than to have to play Portugal.

Rol's right, this was in 2006, not 2010 . Also, don't forget Euro 2004's semi's too .

But I got to give it to you, WC 2006 win against Holland was pretty darn sweet, what with your players only wanting to destroy the top portuguese player legs.

Ahahaha, rewriting histoy? .

Here's history for you:

Next thing you're gonna tell me is that De Jong didn't play Street Fighter against Spain in WC 2010?

Portugal is a team I am always happy to see lose. Admittedly, tomorrow won't be such a day, but this is football. Sometimes you simply can't get complete satisfaction.

Good for you

That's six vs. six fouls that were punished with yellow cards/yellow+red cards. Plus a hands from Portugal and a yellow card for Ricardo for whatever reason. Ergo, non-gravity was correct: You are rewriting history. This wasn't proof that the Dutch team played overly hard, but rather that both teams did. Also, I think Deco was sent off the field for kicking the ball away, so that's another strike against Portugal.

Yeah, it's all coming back now. This is why I utterly despise Portugal. Plus, people who defended Portugal for this game made me even angrier back then. A Dutch shot hitting the crossbar and going down in front of the goal line... luck definitely was on the side of Portugal in this game.

I am going to root for Germany now. These pesky Portuguese rats must be destroyed.

Hear Hear

The karate kick on Ronaldo looks bad, but so does the Figo spontaneous mid-air nose bleed that got us a red card.

Great opening day of the cup with two very entertaining games, although I am sad how badly the Czech lost to Russia.

You're right, we did reply in kind and I'm not particularly proud that my team did that.

I'm not rewritting history, because if you pay any kind of attention to the highlights as well, it was the dutch players that "kicked it" off with Van Bommel trying to crush Ronaldo's ankle and all hell broke loose from there.

Oh please, as if Holland played anything at all in that game. Wow, they got a ball on the cross, good for them . Go see the match statistics and see who had the most oportunities and played the best football.

I'm not particularly confident against Germany tomorrow, but that's because I have no qualms in saying that the german team is better than us by a longshot . Still, i'll be pleasantly surprised if we do win as that'll give us a big morale boost. It's not as if we haven't beaten a much better German team before .

Yes, the Dutch team started it, but Portugal didn't even think for a second of taking the high road. Like for example Spain did in the World Cup final of 2010.

I watched this game back then and Portugal wasn't any better, for most of the time they just defended their lead. It should have gone into overtime based on the two teams' play over 90 minutes, but Portugal lucked out.

When did you ever beat a good German team in a game that mattered? The only win I recall was in 2000 and that was against the poorest excuse of a German team they had in the last two decades.

Sorry excuse of a german team? Just because they played shitty doesn't mean that they still had some of the best german players of their time in the lineup. That's a pretty odd way to classifiy anything .

And yeah, I agree with you in regards to Portugal's players attitudes (as I said on my previous post too).
