The first match of Euro 2012 kicks off at 5.00 pm tomorrow GMT as the co-hosts Poland take on Greece, followed by Russia v. Czech Republic at 7.45 and I for one cannot WAIT for this tournament to start.

I was surprised to see there wasn't a thread for this already (although maybe there is and I missed it, but hey ho), so anyone interested please post here any thoughts, predictions, reaction etc.

Below is (hopefully) the schedule for the group stages. Notable highlights over the first few days are Germany - Portugal, Spain - Italy and England - France. And, what is sure to be everyone's most anticipated match, the big Ireland - Croatia game. Looking at it again, the quality of teams and matches really is phenomenal, not an easy game for any team in sight. Can't wait for Netherlands-Germany next Wednesday!

To get the prediction ball rolling, I fancy Spain to win it with Russia as my dark horses (i know, I know, how original).

Ireland (my team) will, unfortunately, be found out and finish bottom of a very tough group. Some members of the British press seem to be talking us up a bit as having a chance of getting through it, particularly after Italy's recent troubles on and off the pitch, but I really don't see it happening. Trap has been a very lucky manager but I'd say it's going to end here with a total of one or zero points.

I actually fancy England for a semi final spot. I think they can win a relatively easy group and will then most likely face Croatia or Italy in the knockout stages, which I think would be doable. Then I think they'll be hockied by one of the big boys

Oh, it does already exist, sorry. close this pleas, thanks

I think England will struggle to get out of the group, France are a very good team 20+ games unbeaten and we always have close games with the Swedes, Ukraine I think will go out, probably with one point.

I think you're downplaying your team tbh, Ireland will do well, might scrape second spot.

The Dutch will win overall, strong team and playing well, but its a cup competition and surprises will happen, but I wouldn't be shocked to see Spain to not get anywhere near the final.

Anyone want to partake in a sweepstake? I'm never as psyched for the Euros as I am for the the world cup but if people are interested I might hastily put together a sweepstake.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

I've seen another thread, but it's supposed to be Sony fans only or some nonesense. Better to keep this around

I think that was a joke about it being for Sony fans. My one is nicer though, he doesn't even have a schedule in his

Let's go Deutschland!

I'm looking forward to seeing what Russia and France can do. From what I'm hearing they could surprise.

I can already feel despair of all Polish fans when Poland will not get out of their group...too many people here seems to expect Poland to actually *win* the whole tournament, when it's clearly not possible.

And yes, I'm Polish.
