It's certainly possible (though keep in mind RE sold more when you combine console). If it has the quality, appeal, and marketing, it can get there. And I honetly think it'll have two of the those traits in abundance.

Game looks awesome! I don't do pre-orders, but will pick up the first copy I can get my hands on.

Yes, i do. Life time sales. Remember many people said uncharted would never sell well, and it did. I'm saying this because uncharted fans aren't only uncharted fans they are Naughty Dog fans. Naughty Dog has always been a quality, but their name is growing more and more. Expect to be surprised.

I'd expect that not every uncharted fan would buy it, but i do expect them to pick up a few to replace those that don't. Naughty Dog isn't a one hit wonder.

You had a decent post, but like Mass Effect 3, your ending was a clusterfuck.

Anyway, for folks claiming to know what it will do based on anecdotal pre-order numbers, we've only seen one game-play vid, two cinematic trailers, and it's at least 8-10 months away from launch with no solid release date in sight. No way to be even a percentage sure of anything right now. One thing that is a more likely case - the game will attract some newcomers and many Uncharted fans, which opens up a wealth of potential buyers (even if the game doesn't reach Uncharted's lofty lifetime sales).

To the OP, the internet hype is huge, and regardless of how it compares to Halo (the biggest name in a specific brand, no less), with the way things are headed, this is about to be another notable success for Sony.

what the flying f&$(# they are M rated? 0_0 why didn't I know this..I always thought it was like Rated Teen or something...what's so 'mature' about those games? Shooting I guess :S If that's it then games like Gears, KZ and TLOU are gonna need a new rating lol

but yea I should have added new IP, end of the gen bit too :P

Anybody can watch a youtube video.

Preordering is putting your money where your mouth is. I say this as you referred to Halo 4 for comparison. 



Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Guys. Call of Duty is an M rated game. Gears of War is M rated. GTA is M rated.

M rated doesnt mean it wont sell.

If Sony get a fantastic ad run for this, it will open to great numbers. I think we all know that word of mouth will take it aling too. The key thing for legs, will be the multiplayer. If it has addictive multiplayer, a great ad campaign and it turns out to be a great game... I can see it at least matching the original Uncharted.

The main problem with it, I think will be releasing outside of the Holidays.
