GoW3 is already the best selling GOW game, good work.

So many comical posts in there.

OT: Congrats to God of War III. I expected no more than 4.7mill, so this is a pleasant surprise and will soon be Sony's 3rd 5 million selling franchise. Next up, LittleBIGPlanet.

I honestly don't see LittleBigPlanet reaching 5 million. With LBP2 now being cheap, and the PSN outage give-away, it doesn't seem likely. I could see TLoU getting there though.

With LBP being @ 4.91m, it's very likely.

Wow...i thought this had crawled to 4.5-4.6m & died. It's selling better than I thought.

Another 5 millions sellers exclusives for PS3 i don't know why many members here said that Sony exclusive don't sell well.

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

I was probably one of the few who predicted GOW3 would cross 5 million. The first two games were pirated massively.

Great sales for such a great franchise. Deserves more than 21mill to be honest. Has there been another hack and slash game that has come close to god of war?

Holy hell, we were all really pessimistic about Uncharted 2. The highest predictions were around 4 million, and it's on track to sell over 6 million.

Great sales, but I don't like saying GoW3 sold 5m until it sold 5m individually. GoW:Trilogy owners & GoW3 owners could overlap. It's unlikely, but it's possible, so it's not official.

Are you serious? That is the strangest logic I've seen on Vgchartz yet. Even if all 120,000 sales from Trilogy edition overlaped with people who bought the standard edition as well (100% impossible) why would it matter to Sony? At the end of the day a sales a sale, If a billionaire bought 5 million copies of God of War III alone  vs. 5 million unique people buying 1 copy each Sony makes the same amount of money and the franchise is just as big. God of War III has been bought by 5.07 million people, whether some people bought multiple copies or not doesn't matter.

It's amazing how God of War III sold 5+ million copies in just 2 years with horrendous advertising, miniscule bundling, a March release date and on a console with at the time of launch had a MUCH smaller install base than its predecessors had when they launched, I don't know why anyone would try to downplay what a huge success God of War III is. Is it possible that there are still 130,000 copies sitting on store shelves for GoWIII? That seems like a lot, also Vgchartz how can GoW 1 +2 still have so many copies sitting on store shelves? They aren't available new anywhere so they should be adjusted all the way up to their sell-in numbers.

Also Vgchartz, God of War III's yearly numbers still need to be adjusted.

I was talking about install base. I thought it was obvious, but I guess not. Also, we can't prove that every trilogy owner isn't a gow3 owner so it's not official.

@gow collection. nice sales
