Forums - Nintendo Discussion - So Are You Convinced On WiiU? **UPDATED with launch window games list**

Are you convinced to buy the WiiU?

YESS...especially after this E3! 210 31.16%

NO..I need moar! 196 29.08%

NOO NOOO *Darth Vader's Episode VI one* 178 26.41%

Maybe.... 90 13.35%

Total:674

I'd love to see skyrim on it with the map on the tablet controller. That'd be useful if not anything else haha. Or a gran turismo/ forza competitor with in race adjustments (brake balance etc) to be made on the tablet area.

Apparently shareholders care about casual gamers.

Bah, just double-checked and I'm not even so sure anymore.

@danne. Yeah, the stock went up 3.33% at market opening this morning. Funny thing about it, that was before the E3 presentation! Ah, the market is just bullocks, call it a self-fulfilling prophecy. Stockholders betted on a big reveal and a profitshare increase for Nintendo, so it goes up (before the presentation). After the presentation, articles use the bounce to say that shareholders are happy about what they saw... This industry is blowing my mind into smitherines.

"Nintendo Co.  NTDOY 3.34%  wrapped up its press event at the E3 conference on Tuesday without a price or specific launch date for its Wii-U console, which expected to come out later this year.

Investors didn’t seem to mind the omission, as the U.S.-listed shares rose about 3% immediately following the event."

That's not what I see in the graph!

All this to say, I like when Nintendo makes money, when it makes them make games that I like. Otherwise, why be a fan???

I have an eerie feeling that stock holders mess up a lot of the potential a console have: they have all these different opinions on what the company should do, without truly knowing anything about the business!

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

YEs one for me - and Wii U will be my Xmas present for most of my friends....

Purchase minute 1 plus 3 launch games... maybe 4.

Speaking of which, have you seen the CNN article thread? http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=144119

Pretty funny. I guess for stakeholders the presentation was good, but for the market Nintendo promised to target, they are missing thet mark. Everything else was ok I guess.

I don´t understand why Bioware makes only Mass Effect 3 for the WiiU? They should do at least the second as well. You can´t appreciate the game fully if you have not played its predecessors.

Nothing about this presentation makes me think that the Wii U will have a lifespan of 5 years. So not interested.

What kind of nonsense is this? We already know the Wii U will have a five year lifespan. Consider:

Sony always does what Nintendo does, but doubles it.

Sony's systems have a ten year lifespan.

Ergo, Nintendo's systems must have a five year lifespan.

Otherwise, Sony won't have a bullet point to talk about anymore.

Simple logic, really.

Ths has nothing to do with Sony. I am not a Sony fan. Dont have a PS3, dont have a Vita. Do have a Wii.  Yet lifespan of a console is important. I did not say 10 years I said 5. Look at the Wii.  Year 5 started November 2011 so buy the time the Wii completes its fifth year its replacement will be on the shelves.  By that time the Wii U had already been announced and the Wii was dieing in the market and the Wii took off when it was released.  It doesnt look like that will happen with the Wii U.  So a couple years from now Nintendo will be back at E3 with the "Wii for All" or the "Wii made a mistake".

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

So, I surprisingly had two friends of mine yesterday say they were going to buy a Wii U at launch. Both are 30 and not huge Nintendo fan boys (though both owned Game Cubes and do enjoy Nintendo's first party offerings).

First one, like me, has no kids and a decent disposable income - he thought Zombi-U looked good and some of the controller applications and the promise of future first party titles were enough for him to make his decision.

The second is actually trading in his X-Box 360 towards it. He recently upgraded his gaming rig and feels that any third party game worth getting he would rather get on the PC, and he never owned a Wii. He figures the Wii U is a good chance to catch up on Nintendo franchises he missed on the Wii and is a huge fan of the Aliens franchise and of Zombie games (Left 4 Dead and Resident Evil are two of his favorite franchises) and thinks the controller uses they demonstrated are interesting.

Just thought this was funny, since most of us (including me) thought Nintendo sold the Wii U so poorly. I should probably point out that neither of them watched any conferences, but just watched some E3 high light trailers here and there.

For me is not a yes or no question, just when. The only way im gonna be able to play my favorite games (Smash, Zelda, mario, metroid, mario kart, donkey kong.....) is on a Nintendo console; So Ill be getting one. Dunno if this Xmas though, or until next year. It depends on the whole line up that will be available I guess. And some of those 3rd party games look great.

Good thing I havent buy games in a long time, so Ill gladly enjor batman, and ACIII on the WiiU,

That is pretty hilarious! and sad... Ninty fucked up bad =P hopefully they got enough time to do some damage control... why the hell didn't they rename it?! -.-

Stock holders will cheer until the casual market will totally ignore the new system, and then the stock holders will cry like babies and flee Nintendo, who will tank and go 3rd party... That's a bleak future that is.

And if Nintendo doesn't wake the fuck up, it's a very likely future. They are officially stupid in my eyes.
