I hope that it's a repeat of the Wii all over again. That's one of my favorite gaming systems ever (until Nintendo stopped supporting it).

It had a good two years, didn't it?

Yep, 2007 and 2008 were very good.

2010????  Monster Hunter Tri, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, Mario Galaxy 2, Other M, Sin and Punishment 2, Epic Mickey, No More Heroes 2, Red Steel 2, I would say 2010 was a fantastic year

in compartision to the line up the hd twins had for that year its really lacking.

Being in 3rd place never felt so good

Also, did any of you guys really saw Nintendo's E3 conference?. They did show many 3rd party "hardcore" games like Mass Effect 3. Ninja Gaiden 2, Assassins Creed 3, Arkham City...etc etc. I just see sony/microsoft fanboys in disguise here.

If Nintendo can manage to get a Mass Effect 1 & 2 in one package deal, I will get the whole series for the WIi-U....otherwise I'll get it for the PC ;x.

ME2 might be a posibility, but they won't be able to get ME1 on Wii U since it was published by MS. Unless EA buys the publishing licence for that game from MS.

I think there's one flaw with Nintendo's current strategy: hardcore games. What do I mean by this? Nintendo is marketing Mass Effect, Ninja Gaiden, Batman, Assassin's Creed, and Darksiders as their "hardcore games". So how are they're going to attract the PS3/360 userbase who will have already played 3 out of those 5 games already and will most likely play the other two on their current console? No one is going to spend 300 plus dollars on a new console to play those games. What Nintendo should have done, and didn't (Whether there was no money for it or for other reasons) but what Nintendo needed to do was show of the next gen games that were shown off at E3 running on their hardware. They needed the new Star Wars and Watch Dogs running on Wii U hardware. They didn't. So either Nintendo has this disconnect and think that for every Wii owner no one bought a competing console or they just don't have the money needed to sway the third parties the Microsoft and Sony has/are. On top of that, without releasing pricing/release date, my guess is they're planning a 2013 release which will hurt them even more.

They'd better keep the price down to $350 at launch especially with 720 coming out at $400.00 and PS4 coming out at $450.00 in 2013 with both of them having 4 times the processing power of Wii-U.

Since when did they confirm pricing for any of the consoles you mentioned...

It's safe to assume that the difference in price and power between Wii-U and The Real Next Gen Twinz will follow that between 3DS and Vita quite closely ie. Sony's next console will be as powerful at release versus the Wii-U as the Vita is in respect to the 3DS with the price difference being being quite comparable to the PS Vita's $250 versus the 3DS's $200 at launch with many more Next Gen Core games on the way for PS4 and the 720 will follow the PS4's pattern.

The 360 launched at $400.00.  Microsoft saw what happened to Sony this gen when they missed the $400.00 sweet spot for true next gen consoles and will once again launch their new console which will will be loaded with as much true next gen tech as you can cram, into a box for $400.00.  The PS4 due to slightly more advanced tech will check in at $450; however as mentioned above its price at launch will be relative to Vita's versus 3DS.

There are never reliable patterns and it's never safe to assume anything with video games. In Sony's state it wouldn't surprise me if they released a PS4 at $299, there are no confirmed specs for the PS4 or Xbox8 so we obviously know nothing. The only console price you can slightly predict is the WiiU based on all the info we were given so far, we still don't really have an exact detailed spec list of what's inside but from what we see it's safe to say it'll be around the $350 price point, maybe more because of that fancy controller they're throwing in.

Sony's pricing of Vita versus the 3DS shows that they learned from having a $600 console last time out and they're not going to go that round again.  However, the specs such as its graphics chip and their President's remark that they've never been first or the cheapest shows that they're still interested in releasing a powerful machine.  However, as PS Vita versus 3DS shows they will keep the price of at least model at most only $100.00 more expensive at launch than Wii-U.

lol There's no way you can sit there and say the PS4 is going to be at msot $100 more expensive then the Wii U because of the pricing of the 3DS and PSV? And if your going by that then it really makes no sense because the 3DS and PSVita launched at the exact same price, $250.

* You do realize the Wii controllers work with the WiiU, right?  A number of multiplayer games will use the Wii configuration on it.

I saw this in the 'specification's sheet for WiiU that Nintendo sent out, I think its a really bad idea to have both the Wiimote and Wiimote+ control options available for WiiU, games barely supported Wiimote+ for Wii, this was their chance to upgrade motion sensing for the hole system so all games had to be more precise in their motion controls, instead it'll be just the same as last gen :/

Last time gilgamesh made a prediction (3ds vs Vita) it went terribly wrong. So I am coming at this with a opposite view.

I believe Nintendo actually did a good job on the hardware and will attract lots of 3rd party support. I believe it is Sony and Microsoft that shot themselves on the foot. They now allowed Nintendo to have a head start. History shows that head starts are very deadly and even led to domination in some generations. If wii u does come dead on arrival it will have time to pick up and if it does oh my the competition is screwed!

Switch is 9th generation. Everyone else is playing on last gen systems! UPDATE: This is no longer true

Since when was the eighth gen over? The 3DS and PSVita are done selling already?

What year is it!

The 3DS and Vita are certainly not both done selling.

@bold
Its 2012 but the world will end and therfore vita has no time to outsell the 3ds.

You're right this generation isn't "over" but vita will have to come back with a hell of a comeback. It will also mean that the 3DS will have to crash and burn.
