V, a popular energy drink in Australia, is set to introduce a completely new flavour to its range to coincide with a month-long promotion it will be running to promote Microsoft’s Halo 4 XBOX 360 game next month.

In a Facebook post this afternoon, V revealed a picture of the 500ml drink can which prominently features Halo 4 and Master Chief with a purple background instead of its traditional green design. The flavouring dubbed “Purple Plasma” is expected to be grape flavoured, based on my research so far.

The V website also shows a teaser for the lineup of Halo 4-branded products that will be on the market between September 24 and November 18th 2012 during which the claim to be giving away an limited edition Halo 4 XBOX 360 console to a lucky drinker every hour.

The company behind V seems to be keen on XBOX game tie-in promotions as this campaigns follows the limited edition Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3-branded V cans from last year (without a new flavour).

Halo 4 tournament announced as part of MLG Fall Championship

Halo 4 added to MLG Fall Championship lineup; bracket format, scheduling and prizing to be confirmed.

North American eSports organisation, Major League Gaming (MLG), has announced Halo 4 as part of its Fall Championship lineup. The tournament will take place just days before the game is officially released, giving competitors the opportunity to play the game before it goes on sale.

Additional details, such as prize money, format, bracket size and schedule, have yet to be confirmed. The MLG Fall Championship will be taking place in Dallas, Texas, on November 2-4 this year.

In an update on the official Xbox website, Microsoft has advised that, for an "optimal experience", players should install the entire game to their console's hard drive, which will require at least 8GB of free space.

Halo 4 is due out on November 6 for the Xbox 360. It is a direct sequel to 2007's Halo 3 and has players taking on the role of super-soldier Master Chief. For more on the project, check out GameSpot's latest preview

Uh, what the hell is this, something from Minecraft?

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

I demand my Halo Dew and that yo-john come back before this game comes out.
