hey hey all

I was thinking. Squaresoft was awesome, Enix was awesome, but adding 2 awesomeness together turned into crap, less Main line Dragon Quest. Most of their games suck these days. I liked FF 13-2, but mainly cause of the time travelling, and it could have need a chrono game. I think they should sell almost all of their licenses to Mistawalker, for a dollar, lol, so Sakaguchi can actually turn these series awesome again. Can you imagine, finally a sequal to Super Mario RPG: Legend of the 7 stars. I still want to know where smithy came from and why did they have a bunch of smithy's in the final boss room.

I had other stuff, but I can't remmeber and I have to run right now. Please if this has already been discussed then delete the thread.

@BasilZero - That's also an awesome idea, but people will always buy FF games no matter how bad they are. At least Sakaguchi will make it awesome. Also every Mistwalker game (in my opinion) is soo much better than most SE games.....and yet they still get sold more.

No, Mistwalker is far from Square Enix as a quality game company. Square Enix has more in the terms of developers, money/budget, and resources than Mistwalker will ever have. Besides Mistwalker is a co-develop they just do the concept of the games and have other teams develop their visions. They make some solid titles like Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon, and the mixed The Last Story. But overall Square Enix is in a different league than Mistwalker is.

definitely not mistwalker... While I do agree square was better before the merger... I don't like mistwalker. Plus at most they've only co-developed games.

they're only good-great game imo was lost odyssey, and still SE has released a couple games a lot better than that TWEWY, Birth By Sleep, Dragon Quest IX, come to mind, not to mention some eidos games which are great. Blue Dragon was about as generic as possible. The Last Story was okay, but felt combat wise like a crappy kingdom hearts (which I'm not that fond of). 

Mistwalkers best game Lost Odyssey was co-developed by FeelPlus, which was essentially the people that made the 3 shadow hearts, and is a lot worse than 2 of those games.

If I were to pick a different JRPG studio to develop square games, I'd personally pick Atlus, Monolith, Level 5 (which they do), and tri-ace (which they always have done Star Ocean).

If square gets beaten out, because other companies make better games that's great. It means we have other great games. It doesn't make square's past games or my memories of their games any less great. 

Why would Square hand off its series to a developer who has produced lower reviewed and fewer sales?

Maybe they'd want to move on and try something new while making money off of old IP idk like Naughty Dog. They've always done it with dragon quest even when it was enix (I believe they were only a publishing house and never actually developed anything).

So in a sense they already do it. Tri-Ace (Star Ocean), Level 5 (Dragon Quest, except the new one). Even FFXIII-2 was partially developed by tri-ace.

But to mistwalker... I don't think's gonna happen, for the reasons you listed, plus the sakaguchi dynamic. You'd first have to see SE publish a mistwalker game I think and build their relationship. But probably not.

Xcuse me? tri-Ace is the original creators and developers of  Star Ocean. Also Armor project has developed every DQ they just use other developers as grunts.

@Marteds - I agree, but to me it feels like all of Mistwalker games or soo much better than the SE ones. When Sakaguchi left SE, it just wasn't Square anymore....the Enix part stayed the same.

@SnakeDrake - lol, Soon I"m gonna make a thread about Square and how big of hypocrits they are when it comes to their games and sony.....but that's for another thread.....and another time.

@ishiki - I'm not saying that Mistawalker should make their games....they should OWN their games now. They're just bombing crap left rigth and center, lol. Ok maybe mot that badly, lol.

@outlawauron - They got a lower review because people are biassed. They hear the name Final fatnasy and they give them and 8.5 if it's a crap game. Seriously has ANYBODY played Lost Odyssey. I loved that game. As a man I'll admit that it made me cry.....I love games that make you emotionnal, like Xenoblade, FF6, FF5 and FF4(Palom and Porom sacrifice :'( ) to name a few. SQ hasn't done that to me in.....well I can't remember other than The World Ends With You. Also it has fewer sales cause most people don't know about their awesome quality. Basically Mistawalker IS Squaresoft......pre FF7.
