After playing the demo I can safely say fuck that guy. The game seems very good from a technical standpoint. It may be generic and boring, I don't know, but so was Resistance 2 and look at its reviews. Hopefully this game is different in that case.

I'll definitely get it after it becomes cheaper. Even if the single player was lacking, the multiplayer should be enough to make up for it.

How in the Hell was Resistance 2 generic and boring? The improvements made to the art direction as well as massive boss battles and unique cooperative multiplayer made it really stand out. Sure, the two weapon limit, poor narrative and broken competitive multiplayer patches tarnished it which made the overall game flawed, but certainly not generic and boring.

I guess all of the improvements you talk about were in the second half of the game, because the first half was so generic and boring I've never finished it ( for the bolded part, I was talking about single player, multiplayer was indeed fun).

Did you make to Chicago? Tearing through hundreds of Insomniacs' interesting take on zombies until you get to fight a 300 foot tall sky scraper sized monstrosity was amazing. Sorry but I can not imagine finding Resistance 2 boring, especially considering the offensively bland game that it followed.

Well, I don't remember, it was nearly one and a half years ago. I've never played the first and third games but the general consensus is that the first and third games are very good while the second one is mediocre. You are the odd one out.

I will try to finish it if you insist that it is good though. Maybe I stopped too early.

It is worth noting that the critics actually awarded Resistance 2 the highest metascore out of the Resistance games (86, 87, 83). I find that this is simply a case of a very vocal group of detractors. Personally, I found the original to be insufferably uninteresting and the second to be far more creative but also far more flawed. Sadly my PS3 is broken so no resistance 3 for me :(

I'll give it another shot. You can just get a Vita and play Burning Skies in the meantime :P.

G4TV Review: 4/10

The Pros
First FPS on the PlayStation Vita
Inventive arsenal of weapons

The Cons
Lackluster story
Unimaginitive level design
Some user-unfriendly touch screen controls
Poorly balanced multiplayer progression
This multiplayer in general is a poor fit for the platform

Seeing lots of negative reviews for this game...no idea why. The game functions flawlessly and is a lot of fun, even if it is a little cheaply made.

I prefer to see it as an arcade-like experience rather than a heavily story-based one. As long as you chose to see it that way, you should have a hell of a time.

Gotta say, playing through Resistance 2 again recently - I still love the online multiplayer (despite it being completely broken if people Wraith spam) and the co-op is as fun as ever, but the single player is just poor - and I do feel it's a mish-mash of tens of other FPS cliches and it's pretty generic.

The boss battles were quite fun, don't get me wrong - and Chicago was fun for a bit because of the Splicer (such a cool weapon) but everything else in this single player is just pants. Dark for the sake of being dark. As linear as it's humanly possible to be. Things like Chameleons and insta-death in most water are just frustrating. Waves after waves of Chimera coming at you during certain points of the game just to flesh it out a bit. Plus the story, which never really takes off and hardly goes anywhere.

Obviously, people see things differently - the reviews have been kind to it and you obviously enjoyed the single player, but for me it's been really boring and I've struggled to make it all the way through (I just finished the Holar Tower level and I don't have much drive to see how much of the game is left).
