Forums - Nintendo Discussion - What does NSMB for Wii U need?

Better artstyle and music would be nice. Other than that, just make it fun.

Around the Network

1. More Super Mario Bros. 2 - Shy Guys, Turnips, etc.
2. Keep local co-op, but add online as well.
3. Have the main 4 characters: Mario, Luigi, Toad, Princess Toadstool
4. Keep the option to use your Miis. This is good for the blue ocean.
5. Bring back Wart.

An overworld like what Super Mario World have, as well enemies from games like Yoshi Island and SMB2. I would want to play the game in a similar fashion from the 2d parts of Super Mario Galaxy, which looked pretty amazing in my opinion. I would also want to have a higher difficulty, well at least an option. These reasons would make me buy the game close or during launch.

I would rather have the "New Super Mario World" that others have described. I have less of an issue with the NSMB graphical stylings, or music, and lack an opinion on online play, but i did adore the real ability to take multiple routes through Super Mario World, including Star World and having the bonus world being something hidden to find rather than a trick of getting all the star coins. This would be my ideal

agreed.   star world was awesome and finding the special exits was great.  I think my favorite was in chocolate island where the standard exist made you loop back on yourself.  took me forever to figure that one out.

Digging my memory back (and while i'm in a younger generation of gamers, first experiencing SMW on the GBA in 2002, that's still 10 years ago) i seem to remember giving up trying that way and going through the fortress that lead out of the Forest of Mystery

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I'm not sure what online multiplayer would get you...

Just make the games longer with more levels and new worlds (e.g. a gravity world like the sections in Galaxy 2 would be nice!). Also, an ability to change the difficulty. And put in more new power-ups. As much as I hate to say it, a gun or a rocket launcher or something to destroy projectiles, or something like the Gravity Gun in Half Life would be nice.

Aside from that, just improve graphics and take advantage of the hardware.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

-SMB classic gameplay
-SMW overworld
-SMB2 uniqueness with more characters to chose from,
-Miis,
-SPLITSCREEN local multiplayer, maybe online
-Bring back Vs

You are a terrible person. Do you feel like a terrible person? Because you are a terrible person.

No. I think it'd be cool to be able to freely move platforms around for your own personal gain, is all.

"Personal Gain" I believe that's what the Super Guide is for if you have trouble finishing a level

"Like Half Life" That defeats the purpose of platforming; Nintendo wants to profit greatly. They're looking at over 20M+ sales, not near 10M
