The game seems pretty cool, the review makes it sound like a solid all around experience. I love the idea that you gotta showcase skill and speed in combat fights. Sounds like it would make for some real challenging gameplay on hard mode. I was hoping that they'd include a traditional mode though, for fans of the board game, maybe with online PvP multiplayer.

Well, that is Mark.  Mark generally will like questionable stuff.  He likes about everything.  If you see him not liking something, that is a good sign to avoid it.  But the, take a look at Angry Joe:

Talking abomination level here.  The game has no multiplayer, and clocks in at $60 new.

Here is Metacritic on it (41 rating for XBox 360, less than 2 by users, with PS3 version being at 44 now):

People can go and hunt down other ratings also.  It does look like an avoid now, even in a bargain bin.  It is by Activision also?  Seriously?

Coming Fall 2012: Monopoly: The Video Game

Drive your car around the monopoly board and try to beat the other racers! Scenery based on the original Monopoly board game! (to be honest, even that would be more similar to the original than Battleship is).

I was hoping it would be more like GTA. :/

My take on it is.  And the multiplayer does come with and FPS deathmatch mode..

Can't wait for FPS versions of Clue and Monopoly.

An FPS version of Clue might be awesome.  Add in some stealth mechanics, and I can see lurking in the library as Colonel Mustard, lead pipe in hand, as something I could get behind.

I am starting to dread my ability to do parodying, with my ability to do game design, results in ideas that would end up having people be interested in it.  What you described is what I proposed mockingly of everything being turned into a FPS.

What might be better off is a FPS version of Kill Doctor Lucky actually:

We should tell twesterm to get Terminal Reality to make a Monopoly-themed GTA.

So, twesterm has connections with Terminal Reality?  Does that mean, if I am looking for a break into the business, I shold be nicer to twesterm or something?

How about the Candyland FPS, with Adam Sandler as Master Chef?

On another note, the 3DS version looks like it is a turn-based strategy game, with some action elements:
