I can't decide which of these two franchises I prefer - they're both awesome!

How about you guys? Do you have any preference between Advance Wars and Fire Emblem? 

Fire Emblem fore sure. I love the style, theme, and art way more.

I own all the games of both series released in Europe, but so far the only Fire Emblem games I've completed is Shadow Dragon, I'm playing BS now. Even though I prefer what I've played so far of FE to AW, I don't think my judgement is completely valid as I have yet to play Sacred Stones, PoR and RD

I would say Fire Emblem solely for the fact that it is made by Nintendo. (And That I haven't heard of the other.) :P

I read the thread title and then a thought popped into my head... how sick would an Advanced Wars game for the Wii U be??? Touch-screen controls on the tablet controller for all your unit maneuvering and strategy, with the TV screen displaying glorious head-to-head battles in HD.

Or hell, even another Battalion Wars with online multiplayer / co-op would be sick!

Solely for the fact that it is Published by Nintendo.

Fire Emblem is an absolutely brilliant series, and one of my favourite ones.

Advance Wars is a boring pile of turds with a sugar-coated cherry dipped in urine on top.

Both are great, but Fire Emblem is better in my opinion, the story is often more complex and it's more unforgiving, and at the time more rewarding. It feels so good to finish a chapter with everyone alive...

Besides, console and handheld games are practically the same, feel like the same game, Advance Wars instead is much different from Battallion Wars... I like both and play both series, but Fire Emblem is my favorite of the two.

I believe I like Advance Wars the most. The game in the series that sets it over the top of Fire Emblem series would be Advance Wars: Dual Strike. Dual Strike is pure awesome.
