Forums - Gaming - End of story for me: I did get a cheap tablet.

In a prior post, I had asked why to get a 3DS or Vita instead of a tablet.  My list of wants seemed to make it clear a tablet would be best though, but I posted to see if I was wrong.  It consisted of lugging PDFs with my game rules around, Web access for info and YouTube (and a few games).  Maybe some game development thrown in.  So, I sprung for a sub $100 tablet at Toys R Us.  Thing isn't perfect, but does the job.  I can use my DSi stylis with it also.  So, all and all I am happy on the whole.  Is it top of the line?  No it isn't.  The model is pretty mediocre, but I am happy for my limited use.  Still will look to get a 3DS/Vita sometime, but now they wait.

I can't seem to find the prior post, so I posted a new one here.

What tablet? I went cheap myself (Kindle is considered "cheap" these days) and couldn't be happier. Missing Swype though. I love Swype.

I got an iPad and it is the greatest thing of all time. Absolutely amazing what it can do...

^ Not everyone finds it to be worth $600-$800 though.

It is worth about £5,000 to me. It does EVERYTHING and it never leaves my side. Everyone I know who has an iPad is the same, they never leave it down, and it provides them with countless hours of music, movies, internet surfing, easy access to emails, apps to suit your every imaginable need...and everything else.

^ My Android device lets me download music free, streams movies from netflix and amazon prime, Internet supports flash, amazon gives one free paid app per day, grants access to free books and library access, has great apps for your everyday needs, plus it costs $400+ less. Plus, while it only comes with 8gb of space, your apps and stuff get stored on the amazon cloud, so the storage is much greater in reality.

Kindle Fire is a real good device. Same specs as the Blackberry Playbook pretty much, yet more than half the price it launched at, which was $800.

VGC is terrible with mobile devices... can't even quote or edit posts...

Seriously, get with the times.

Quoting works fine on my iPad.

^ It works on my Vita too. Either way, quoting on vgc =/= $400+ extra, lol.
