Hey everyone,

I've been a lurker for a few months now finally decided to join. A little bit about myself and my gaming history:

First console was a PS1, dad bought it for me when I was like 6 didn't know anything about video games at the time and didn't know about Sega or Nintendo. Played games like the crash banicoot series, spyro series (still love original spyro to this day especially), Rugrats, Tom and Jerry, Monopoly, Bugs Bunny: Lost in Time, Gran Turismo, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, Spider Man, Digimon Rumble Arena, and Digimon World 3 (I was fascinated by this one because the it was about being trapped in a virtual reality MMO, even though in retrospect I can see it wasn't a great game lol).

Next was Gamecube then PS2 not sure which came first. PS2 was mostly my brothers but I loved playing games such as TY the Tasmanian Tiger, Sly Cooper, Grand Theft Auto III (mom eventually retuned this one a couple years later after she heard how violent it was lol), Kingdom Hearts, SSX Tricky (I remember the game shouting, IT'S TRICKY, IT'S TRICKY, what ever happened to those haha), Star Wars Battlefront, and the Lord of the Rings Games.

Gamecube got made fun of a lot (never forget this one kid in my 4th grade class constantly called it the gaycube) but I loved it. I got it Christmas day along with Luigi's Mansion, Mario Party 5, and Smash Bros. Melee. Think I played for over 12 hours that day haha. Other Gamecube games I played were Kirby Air Ride, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, Paper Mario TTYD (favorite game of all time to this day), Mario Kart Double Dash, Pikmin 2, and Pokemon Colosseum and Gale of Darkness, and some Spongebob game.

Next up was my long addiction to MMORPGs, starting with Runescape. I was addicted to that game for about 2 years starting in December 2004. It is some of my fondest gaming memories, though. Once I felt like I explored all content in Runescape, I switched over to WoW and the addiction was even worse mostly due to dungeons and raids. I played WoW for about 9 months before my parents took away my laptop, blocking my access to the game and any computer games. After that, I googled MMORPGs and found FFXI which was playable on the Xbox 360. I soon picked up an Xbox 360 to become addicted to that game for another year or so in 8th grade. This time was different though, I actually quit the game on my own. And that was the last time I could get into MMORPGs (aside from a few short nostalgic trips back into Runescape). To this day, I sometimes still wish MMORPGs were as fun as they once were.

Next came my first experience with shooters such as CoD and Halo. CoD 4: Modern Warfare and Halo 3 were my first for each series. I played up through CoD Black Ops and Halo: Reach before losing interest in both series. I also really enjoyed Gears of War 3, Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, Dragon Age 1 and 2, Mass effect 1-3, Halo Wars, and Mortal Kombat as well. Fun fact: I beat the long time number 1 ranked Halo Wars player in some online hosted tournament to win $250 (I beat the massively overpowered warthog rush with the Brute Chieftan) but my parents wouldn't let me claim the money because they needed some personal information to give it to me lol.

My brother also had a Wii but I didn't play it too much. My favorite games were Mario Strikers Charged, Smash Bros Brawl, Super Paper Mario, Super Mario Galaxy (only played 1 at the time), and Wii Sports.

In the beginning of my senior year of high school, I decided to get my own PS3 (my brother already had one for quite some time) thinking it would last me. I bought Metal Gear Solid 1-4 (one of my favorite series), The Sly Cooper Trilogy Remasted, Gran Turismo 5 (realized I now hate racing simulation games lol), God of War 1-3, Little Big Planet 2, and Uncharted 1-3. The PS3 was fun but I just lost interest after a year. I still have it at home but never touch it.

Next toward the very end of my senior year of high school, I received a $500 scholarship check, which I then proceeded to spend on a $1050 gaming laptop lol. I thought PC gaming has a lot of variety so I can't go wrong. Played Starcraft, tried MMORPGs again, tried other stuff here and there but couldn't get into anything. I realized I don't actually like using a keyboard for gaming that much. But then I arrive at college and League of Legends spreads like wildfire. One of my friends recommended it to me so I tried it. At first it didn't click but then I was hooked. Me and 4 friends would all get in the same room and play League together for hours, people would judge us so hard haha. I played League for roughly 2 years straight with occasional breaks before quitting for good just a month ago. I reached Diamond 5 playing every role except mid.

Backtracking a bit, Christmas of 2013 I bought a Wii U. I have bought many Wii and Wii U games, I am very happy with it. I have most of the 1st party Wii U games so far. It's amazing how smash bros is still as fun as ever over a decade after first playing Melee. For some reason I never played The Legend of Zelda or Metroid before owning a Wii U, but I have since finished the Metroid Prime Trilogy and all Zelda Console games except Zelda 2 (tried didn't like), Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask (was waiting for them to come to Wii U eShop but caved and bought on Wii store instead). I also played Minnish Cap. The Wii U has made me realize that I love platformers (DKCTF, NSMBU, and SM3DW). Other awesome games I've played are Okami, Xenoblade Chronicles, and Pikmin 3.

Currently the Wii U is the only hardware I play and I can't even keep up with the releases at the moment (Wii U+Wii (although don't think I'm buying anymore Wii games)+Virtual Console+eShop), especially since I find myself with less time these days than ever before (being a junior in college now, trying to get an internship, in a fraternity, and a tutor on campus).

If you actually read all that then I'm impressed haha. I really wanted to post my gaming history actually because I've never done it. Please share if you have similar experiences to mine at any point in your life. I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you!

Hello,

Sorry this is so late. How many Wii U digital games do you own?

Welcome!

Hey, Thanks!

Not that many Wii U digital games because I like discs better. I just buy some Virtual Console games and eshop games like Pushmo World, Citizens of Earth, and Earthbound that look fun. Plus the Wii U's hard drive is so small and I don't want to buy an external one.

I never actually introduced myself... Hi, I'm Slarvax. I didn't come up with a better name, I know. I'm a longtime gamer, going from PS1 to PS2 to Wii to WiiU (handhelds always Nintendo). Right now I only have a 3DS and a WiiU. I love almost everything Nintendo makes, but I don't really like Nintendo. I love music in games, so much I'd replay a game just to listen to a track. I'm an awkward teen, funny guy-wannabe, and make sarcastic posts every so often.

Also, I wanted to tag this in my VGC buddy

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Hello everyone! My name is Curmudgeon, I've decided to join after lurking for some time.

I'm Dutch, collect (retro) games and am mainly a Nintendo gamer, though I also own SEGA, Playstation, Xbox and Atari systems

Nice to meet ya! How many N64 games do you own?

This was posted a long time ago, but I'll reply anyway!

I own about 40, maybe 50 games for N64.

I'm really  more of a of a SNES player though (although N64 obviously is still very good)
