I was hoping that QPR would be able to hold on to it at 2-1. It would have proved in some way that you can't just buy a Premier League title.

(I should note that as a Villa fan I'm a bitter and twisted person)

That's been disproven before though, and I admit this as a Chelsea fan.

Chelsea's money has essentially bought them three titles.

Maybe when every club is owned by an eccentric billionaire the league will be fairer :).

I'm taking the piss out of "Manchester" Utd... a club that isn't even in Manchester.

and to other posters...

EVERY title is bought to some extent, doesnt stop what we have just witnessed being unbelievable entertainment.

For me, the bought aspect kills the games's integrity and I prefer to find sports (Tennis, Golf) or formats (World Cup) that don't suffer from that.

Why we watch sport is storylines. The game itself is not too exciting (imagine a ball going back and forth for 90 minutes), instead it is the meaning of what takes place (against the history of the team, what else is happening in the season) that makes it entertaining. Well, the storyline is always the same. Russian billionaire buys club, removes all management and local players, buys out the best on the world market and hammers people until they get a trophy. Then they lose interest and the next benefactor spends more money.

"Incredible" "Lovely" "!!!!!!" from the OP imply that Man City's victory was taken as a personal victory by you, not just entertaining. You don't get that !!!!! feeling from watching cat videos on youtube despite how entertaining they are. So, how could you even identify with a club? What about it makes you want to support it or empathise with its story?

End of a fantastic season. Just wish united were champions. Fair play city though.

do you support a football team?  if so.. which?

No, I have had incandescent arguments with my dad over this forever. He supports Villa and wants me to.

Here is what I support:

Because this guy went from nothing to the best on the planet at his discipline, and I've supported him from the start in doing so. And the money put into the sport isn't so high as to corrupt anyone.

GEE GEE GEE GEE BABY BABY BABY

So they should... Spent 1billion to win a title so they should win. Sadly football now is just who has more money and rich owners. That's the last time man united will come this close to winning it. City will keep winning now... What a bore football is becoming. The sooner the fair play rules come in, the better.

So very disappointing and I'd like to echo Rol's words:
"Celebrating a team like Manchester City is just wrong."

this is just so so so weak.

Man U paid 60m for two players years ago (ferdinand and Rooney)... probably about 80m in todays money.  Utd bought the title many times spent big money on many players, as did Chelsea, as did Blackburn, as did many other teams.

I am not a city fan...

The hypocricy of football fans is funny.  At least the City owbers are building something propery, as anyone (like me) who lives in the area will tell you. massive infrastructure going on (spending hundreds of millions on the surrounding area)  and community projects.  This really is a dynasty being built... live with it.

"bitter red" will be the new phrase to over take "bitter blue" in the coming years.

I think I'll hop in a cab for a night out in manchester tonight...  could be fun.

But from where did ManU originally rise to the top? When Fergie took the helm ManU was almost dropping out of league. After that with excelent coaching and buying right players they managed to rise to the top and now they have huge amount of money to buy players they want because they have been so succesful. Chelsea rose to the top because Abramovich bought the team and spent billions. Same with City.

Like always you seem to hate on United for no reason at all. How can you not be bitter, if you're a United fan and the title slips away like it did here, during the final minutes. It's a normal reaction. What do you mean by United not being a Manchester club?

do you support Man U?

I "support" them as in they are my favourite team but I am not a fanatic. And I do not really care about the geographical placements of the clubs. So, could you answer the question now?

like many United "fans" and "supporters" you know nothing of the local history, local rivalries and national rivalries.

Utd is in Trafford, in the city of Salford.  Why are United your favourite team?  I will never understand someone that supports a team outside of the area they come from let alone the country in which they live... weird...

I hate man U for very good reasons revolving around my entire life living in the area and supporting a different smaller club from the same area.

You will never understand someone that supports a team from outside of the area? Maybe people move? Why should it matter where they live?  If they support a team it doesn't make a difference as to where they live. I support Leeds and I live in London and I am a fanatic Leeds fan. Are u going to question my support because I don't live in Leeds?
