Gears of war? I made the mistake of looking straight up in the sky when it was raining. Then you clearly see transparent 2D sheets of fake rain. Individual raindrops falling on the ground? The water was not good in gears 1.

Need for speed hot pursuit deserves a mention. Racing in the rain at night was awesome. PGR4 was very good too.


For me Blade runner, MGS2 and Heavy rain stand out in drawing you in with their rain effects.

I can't really remember much of a storm in Heavy Rain. It was raining most (if not all) of the time but i'm not sure about rainSTORMS.

Just when I thought everything worth listing was already done, this beautiful article comes out and proves me right.

Please stop making these lists gamesites, this thread is the proof that the only reaction you will get is about games left out or certain games ranked higher than others.
