Forums - Sony Discussion - The Unfinished Swan headed to PSN

The Unfinished Swan is coming to PlayStation Network. Giant Sparrow announced on the PlayStation Blog tonight that following a long period of silence, it has signed a deal with Sony to bring the first-person painter to PlayStation 3.

“For those of you familiar with Sony’s relationship with thatgamecompany, it’s the same kind of thing. Sony calls it an ‘incubation deal,’” said Giant Sparrow creative director Ian Dallas. “In addition to giving us funding they also provide office space, equipment and advice (often in the form of this cheerful graphics programmer from the God of War team). The best part is that we get to focus all of our energies on just making a game.”

The indie title follows the story of a boy named Monroe chasing after a swan who stepped out of a painting and wandered into a surreal, unfinished, white space of a world. Paint will be your guide, revealing walls, corners, and other obstacles. But that’s not everything.

“The painting a white world stuff is actually just the first 15 minutes,” said Dallas. “After that, things get really weird.”

I love that Sony support these risky indie developers.

Can't wait to check out this and Datura!

The tech demo looked great already, but this looks fantastic!

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Another reason for me to get a PS3 sometime.

Didnt know about this, what is it? A game where you shoot the white in front of you to make details and the path to proceed visible? If so, call me intrigued.

I'm a Foreigner, and as such, i am grateful for everyone pointing out any mistakes in my english posted above - only this way i'll be able to improve. thank you!

don't watch this with huge headache or only without sound. btw great idea, wonder how the game will look after those 15 minutes they spoke about. different colors to shoot? shooting with blue on a yellow wall to open the hidden green door?

look closely at the pages in the end, when the book closes

Sony tries something new again. But now seriously has Santa Monica there hands on every PSN game?
