Nintendo finally got some competition with there Smash Bros games so I thought of there first Nintendo characters figther game Super Smash Bros on the N64 going up against Sony characters first fighter Playstation All-Star's Battle Royale. I believe that ASBR is going to be able to outsell Nintendos original SSB which sold a very respectable 5.55 million. Sony should be able to get over 3 - 4 million by years end (if it has an early holiday release) and throught 2013 outselling it.

Now as for Super Smash Bros Melee this could take a couple years but I can see ASBR outselling it eventually, with extra DLC from different companies like SquareEnix, Capcom, Sega, Kojima etc there plenty of potential for the game, not to mention online will be big with tournaments. SSB Melee sold 7.07 million.

Super Smash Bros Brawl is about my limit, passing it would be quite an accomplishment and theres so few PS3 games that do over 10 million that it's doubtful, I'm willing to say All-Stars Battle Royale will end around 7 - 8 million.

Sony has the advantage this time with the bigger userbase then the N64 and GC, and it's basically what the Sony fans have been drooling over for decades. This is the beginning of Sony's next big franchise, over time they could make a Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale game that can do over 10 million, whether its this gen or not is the question.

Names a little tedious to write all the time though.....

PASBR lacks something that helped sell Smash Bros though: Mario and Pokemon.

But I'd wager that Cloud/Sephiroth alone are +1m sales confirmed. 

Oh, and some Resident Evil characters. Wesker maybe. 

This is a prime example of why you should not experiment with mysterious drugs.

No. This game will be mishandled by sony and the dev very badly and barely scrape past 1 million.

hmm, its possible for it to outsell SSB, but I think your prediction of it getting over 3 million by the end of the year is very unlikely :/

and I'm agree with Sal, a big part of this games success will be if Sephiroth is there

Like I said if it launches early in the holidays, October/November 3 to 4 million will be easy.
