Forums - Gaming Discussion - Now that God of War has fallen into the MultiPlayer darkside, What other good singleplayer games are left?

Tagged games:

God of War now has Multiplayer because that's so necessary. In my opinion, games that were originally SP  but later go on to include MP often end up losing the quality of the SP.

Example
Uncharted 3

Admittedly that's the only game that comes to mind right now because I always try to avoid Multiplayer games if I can help it.

Now that GoW is gone, I'm now worried that games built exclusively for the lone-player will be a thing of the past and all your future games will force you to play with some random on the other side of the world or whatever.

Should I be worried or is this not a sign of things to come?

stoped caring when you mentioned uncharted 3, wich is an uber-awesome multiplayer and still the singleplayer is topnotch.
Footage of GoW IV looks amazing, having fun with friends, best thing that could ever happen to gaming.

I mentioned Uncharted 3 because they took out a LOT of the stuff that was there in Uc1 and Uc2 e.g "cheatcodes" and unlockables. I personally experienced a lot more bugs in Uc3 than I did in the in the previous 2. So yes, Uc3 was gimped in terms of content.

Who are these idiots asking for multiplayer in God of War? I honestly don't get it.

Neither do I, it's one of those little gems that doesn't even make me think about wanting a MP mode when playing the game. Some games are "complete" without it.

Not saying the MP won't be fun or good, just that it wasn't a necesity.

... surely Ajescent the comparison you should have used is NG3. Similar style of action game that added multiplayer leading to the singleplayer being far shorter and under-developed.

Having said that, even though the multiplayer component of NG3 is EXTREMELY messy and sloppy it is still very interesting and a nice change of pace from just shooters. I would hope that with God of War they can likewise make a very interesting multiplayer component.

They should also be able to polish it and make it good. Which sadly it seems Team Ninja, without Itagaki and all the high level people that went with him, can't do.

So yea I think wait and see. I think the multiplayer component in GoW could be very good, and at the least interesting.

Turkish says and I'm allowed to quote that: Uncharted 3 and God Of War 3 look better than Unreal Engine 4 games will or the tech demo does. Also the Naughty Dog PS3 ENGINE PLAYS better than the UE4 ENGINE.

to answer your question: uncharted, god of war ...

I am sorry to tell you, the answer is YES, this is a sign of thing to come, let me tell you rthe reasons.

First, adding multiplayer means they can also add ONLINE PASS, thus fighting the sales of used games

Second, if the game has a multiplayer component the people will take longer to sell the game back to a store like Gamespot

Third, With multiplayer is very easy and cheap to create DLC that brings more revenue for the company

Fourth, With multiplayer your friends will add peer preassure so you buy your own copy instead of waiting for somebody else to finish the game and lend it to you

There may be more reasons, but as you can see from a bussiness perspective makes a lot of sense.

c'mon IT LOOKS FREAKING AWESOME! that's all I care about!

Another game that didn't need multiplayer is Punch Out!!!. It was so unnecessary that never even bothered to try it out, that's really not what Punch Out is about.
