Forums - Sony Discussion - PS3 for $200 at gamestop.

If anyone in the United States has been interested in buying a ps3, now is a pretty good time. Gamestop is selling it for $200 at the moment.

Yep, as expected sony is probably testing out to see how much ps3 would sell at 199, and to see whether or not it's worth cutting the price, if the difference in sales is significant a price cut is likely later this year.....

Nice. I wonder how long this will last, and if we will actually see PS3 top 360 in NA during this time.

I don't think this deal will last long enough to bring PS3 above 360 for the week. But who knows.

Yeah, without a new exclusive game launching to coincide with this deal, you're probably right.

If God of War was coming out this year, I would probably go get one.

A price cut to $200 will happen this year no matter what.

Actually, this is probably just to get rid of 160GB models. Once they are gone, later this year the PS3 will have the 320GB model for $199.

They do this every time when they want to remove a sku. I'd bet their going to move to a single sku for the remainder of this gen.

Is this just something Gamestop is running themselves or is this going to eventually turn into a worldwide thing? Not that it makes much difference considering I already have two lol.
