Is this the first time the gap has closed this much? Anyway congrats to PS3, 3 years ago before the Slim launch it was almost 9 million... :)

Btw, how much was the gap around this time of the year last year and 2010? Just for those people who keep saying "bbbu bbuuu bbuuut, 360 erases PS3s lead and widens the gap back again in Holidays"

according to Ethomaz these are the total adjustments made in 2012:

Some massive adjustments. It surprised me the PS3 is the only one that got adjusted up along PSV. Never underestimate the power of PlayStation?

Doesnt really matter anymore.

The technical result this gen was a winner in hardware sales: the Wii, and a tie between the 360 and the PS3 wich made every game come out for both of them. There was no clear software winner like the PS2 was last gen. The market was split.

Wether one sells a million or less doesnt make any practical difference now. A new gen is about to start and a new contest begins again on wether we will have another tie or winners and losers.

Sony can be second place and they will still consider the biggest loser this gen. How the hell could you lose such a huge market share to two company that you dominated so badly last gen?

If the ps3 is cut to $199 at e3 or gamescom and can match the 360 over the holiday period then it will happen early to mid 2013, even with the 360 price cut. A $199 ps3 would put sales into overdrive. (IMO).

Saying like sales don't matter anymore because a new gen starts is like disregarding 60 million of PS2 sales this gen. Obviously, 360 and PS3 will keep on selling after next gen arrives. Wii will be dead after WiiU arrives.

I'm one of those people who believe PS3 will finish 1st place this gen many years later. Yes, it'll outsell the Wii. :)
