Forums - Nintendo Discussion - First Week Sales of Xenoblade (America)

Does anyone know what the pre-orders where for Gamestop? Since it was a Gamestop exclusive and it's so niche I'd think most potential buyers pre-ordered it. The game only appeals to a very limited market which is why Nintendo didn't think it was worth spending the money to localize and why it is such a limited release. I pre-ordered it because it's so limited I didn't want to have to pay ebay prices for a collector's item when the game goes into Panzer Dragoon Saga mode, which is another game I pre-ordered and loved and wished had a wider release to get the respect it deserves.

Hmm, Conegamer, sorry for biting your thread, I really have to get better at looking for a thread I want to post on my own. Sorry. I based my guess on the assumption that the preorder totals here were correct. I really hope that this game sells well here. I think anything over 200K has to be seen as a victory. Long live the JRPG!

Seeing only gamestop and nintendo are selling it. I say 50,000 at best. Maybe 150,000 by the end of the month.

Maybe 100k-150k.

Woo... you guys have much more faith in this GameStop/Nintendo.com exclusive than I do.

I'd say 120k... and I feel like that's generous. Hopefully I'm wrong though, as it is quite the game. ^_^

I say a obtimistic 200k.

updated: 14.01.2012

playing right now: Xenoblade Chronicles

Hype-o-meter, from least to most hyped:  the Last Story, Twisted Metal, Mass Effect 3, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Playstation ViTA

bet with Mordred11 that Rage will look better on Xbox 360.

Pre orders are currently above 187,000 so the game should at least reach 201,530 by the end of first week.

I stand by my 120k prediction I made last month (for USA).

You guys are way too optimistic. 60-75k max.

Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.

I said 60k in conegamers thrad.. though I was lowballing because I thought everyone was to optimistic.

My reasoning is FFXIII-2 did twice as good in here than in europe first week. And I believe it had twice as many pre-orders as it sold. So I applied that here. VGC's data's been so off especially preorders and JRPG's I just ignore it.
