Forums - Nintendo Discussion - LucasArts Wii U MMO listed on E3 2012 floor plan

Gaming Everything

You can currently view a tentative floor plan of E3 2012 on MapYourShow. It’s unclear how much if this final, but I assume that most exhibitors/products listed on the site will be at the big expo in June.

Interestingly, there’s an entry on MapYourShow for a LucasArts MMO on Wii U. Could this be a sign of what the company has in store for the platform? Or is it just an error?

The current floor plan can be found here.

I wouldn't count on anything, but I wouldn't be that surprised to see a game like The Old Republic ported to the Wii U ...

It would be interesting to see, i just have my doubts over Wii U memory, unless Nintendo's broaching something new and different that doesn't involve wildly segmenting the Wii U userbase

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

The memory issue is a must. Nintendo stated that first their won't be caps on downloadable games. Nintendo also indicated full retail games will be available for download. We know UbiSoft Quebec is working on a WiiU AAA game and apparently a AAA MMO to compete with WoW and TOR. But UbiSoft Quebec is not a large enough studio to produce both a high class MMO as well as a AAA WiiU title. So they are likely one and the same as many leaks have indicated.

Many developers have stated MMO's are happening.

Nintendo stated you'll be able to download books and other apps. Nintendo is putting a massive effort into online content including DLC content for games etc..etc..

So WiiU needs at least 120-gig internal memory to handle all this content. An external memory peripheral will also be necessary because 120-gig is to little for most gamers who download stuff often. Personally 120-gig will likely be enough for me but once you have people buying retail games you run out of room fast. Add in books and possibly movies and that memory will go fast especially if MMO'S are included.

Well well not that I care because I hate MMOs, but maybe just maybe next gen we will actually see more MMOs on consoles.
The amount of cancelled MMOs for consoles this gen is astounding.

Lucas arts? I wonder if SWTOR is getting ported...

meh... all this means is less development resources available for making real games...
the plus side is that this means less development resources available for making lucasarts games.

Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!

No that would be under EA, LucasArts have their own dev teams working on games. The Old Republic just licensed the Star Wars brand.

Also just did a quick check, they are also listed for PC, PS3, 360, Kinect, Social, Vita, Smartphone and PSP platforms under MMOs so yea definately a mistake

They also listed for all those platforms for Action and Adventure but not RPG

When is E3?

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.
