Yeah, I remember. It was one of the few fights early on which I had difficulty with. I'd imagine you're getting the hang of the controls, and battle system, now though?

Just a little further the Prison Island, where all will be revealed ;)

I know part of what's coming. Two important twists, actually. I can't help but spoiler myself sometimes, and in this case i know who our feminine faced mechon is.

Gadolt

It's not a huge shock, really. But why spoil yourself?

I was suspecting that something to that effect was going on, when they made a big deal about how the Mechon were eating people but it looked like they were swallowing them whole, but it explains the bait-and-switch as something more than a "Kamina dies in Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann" kind of thing.

Yeah, as I said, it's not a huge shock. Have you spoilt yourself about anything later on? Because there's far bigger plot twists IMO. You need to keep your eye on things!

Also, it's still a great fight, and a great cutscene.

The only other revelation that i'm clued into regards the "death" of a certain character, vis-a-vis his own backstory.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

And this character would be whom? I don't know who you mean :/

Shulk died along with his parents and the rest of that traveling party, right? The only part i don't know is how he was then brought back to life, but it would explain a lot if the Monado had restored him to life, explaining his affinity with the blade.

I hope you're happy, you've spoilt (perhaps) one of the biggest plot twists.

Still, it's revelation is very unexpected, and it still surprises me of how...sharp...it is, so that's fine. You've still many things to discover, but DON'T SPOIL ANYTHING ELSE! Sorta...ruins the enjoyment

We try to put everything in spoiler tags, I hope it wasn't this thread...

I've changed the poll as well. May as well, I suppose. The other one was too depressing IMO. Shulk is the best character? The Heropon and Bird Lady are miles behind? WTH people!

It's the toughest in the game, followed by Gadolt's second appearance IMO. It's level is 75, or 76, so you must have been around that. Still hard regardless of level, though.

I never said something different.

That's true. I still think some of the UM's are harder, like, pretty much everything in Tephra cave and Alcamoth.

The final boss was quite nice, though. Difficulty was about right, though it would have been cool if it had a min. level of 80, and was always 2 levels higher than you.

All boss fights where solid and no fight was frustrating altough there have been a few very easy boses. Metallface for instance

Starting to get annoyed at the dissonance: I had more trouble against those Rays on the way through Prison Island than i did with Metal Face. Still epic, although i knew one of the revelations ahead of time, it was a compelling story event. I was also vaguely bothered with the "will she or won't she?" of whether or not Melia was staying in the party, given that they created drama for no apparent reason

On a related note, how many more playables do you get? I did a runthrough of all the Heart-to-Hearts i'd become eligible for (mostly involving getting Dunban up to speed), and so many of the Heart-to-Heart sites i run into it won't even tell me conditions for, which i know means it pertains to a character i don't have yet. Don't need names, just want a number, because there are so many of them it seems like there should be more than one.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Can't I vote for all of them? Every place had equally incredible music.

Sigh. Well, I love The Sea to death mainly because of that one city place... so sure. Fallen Arm is very close second place. Colony 9 might be the most underrated in my opinion (possibly the best music once I seriously start to think about it).
