Rumored PS4 screenshot?

IGN sources indicate that the next PlayStation, rumoured to be called 'Orbis', will sport custom chips based on AMD's A8-3850 APU and Radeon HD 7670 GPU, offering the combined performance of both integrated and discrete graphics processors.

The HD 7670 is a DirectX 11-enabled card clocked to 1GHz with up to 1GB of dedicated VRAM.

More importantly, it sports identical specs to the HD 6670 - the card reportedly set to be included in the next Xbox, meaning the two next-gen consoles could potentially meet toe-to-toe in visual terms.

Select studios have reportedly been receiving PS4 dev kits since the beginning of the year, with more finalised units set to arrive towards the end of 2012.

Forbes also claimed in February that Sony's next-gen console will use a graphics chip provided by AMD, ditching current provider Nvidia in the process.

Around the same time, US PlayStation boss Jack Tretton played down the chances of Sony launching PS4 any time soon

• The card is OpenGL 4.1 compatible (PS4 will use it instead DirectX 11)
• HD 7670 and HD 6670 specs (same hardware, just other name): 
  • 800 MHz engine clock
  • 512MB-1GB GDDR5 memory
  • 1000 MHz memory clock (4.0 Gbps GDDR5)
  • 64 GB/s memory bandwidth
  • 768 GFLOPS Single Precision compute power
  • 480 Stream Processing Units
  • 24 Texture Units
  • 32 Z/Stencil ROP Units
  • 8 Color ROP Units

To make  comparsion with the X360/PS3 GPU I just can say the the X360's Xenos have 240 Stream Processing Units clocked at 500Mhz... so these GPU are at least 3.2x more powerful (there are another variables of course).

oh, and this screen looks too realistic for even this whore to care about. please god sony/ms ... put more power behind multi-tasking and not just graphics.

Considering the maddening amount of conflicting info being thrown about, I am calling that the Wii (not WiiU, regular Wii) will be more powerful than next gen consoles, because companies have realized that graphic power isn't everything.

That's exactly what I thought.

At the rate all these next gen 'rumours' are flooding out it seems inevitable we'll see E3 reveals. Though this would be detrimental to the PS3 and 360s current sales momentum.
