While i'm more than happy with the specs, the only thing that bugs is that unless the Cell is kept on board like the EE (and PS2 GPU, then later only the GPU) was for the PS3 in the early days, this thing is likely no where near strong enough to emulate the PS3's CPU. Gpu, sure. I doubt the CPU, though.

Hence the rumors it won't be backwards compatible.

that's you'r best bet. i'm waiting likely 4 yr.'s, as next gen could likely be the longest yet for Sony and MS. ninty may find it hard switching to a new console late next gen. enjoy what you got until you've bought every game you want that came out, and every game that will come out for the system during the 8th gen. PS3 will continue to be suported, so they'll be no need to switch.

The GPU itself is at least 5x more powerful than the actual PS3 GPU.
And the HD 6670 is OpenGL 3 compatible too.
Should these specs hold true, I will move on. Tablets will be surpassing the capabilities of these consoles within a year of launch, with much better software support, and a more open market. Halo, and Uncharted are not that amazing, and Gears will come to other platforms if Epic is not pleased.
Really hope these are no where near the actual specs. The only thing that could save them is if they went to a yearly model progression. So this thing hits this year with the 400 core APU, and the 500 Stream processor GPU with 1GB each. Then a 2014 model with 800 core apu, 1000 stream processor GPU and 2GB each. So on and so forth. In this case Code can remain the same and devs can just scale like with PC.
