VirtualBoy? 3DO? Pippin? Wonderswan? NeoGeo?

Other than Virtual Boy, did the other systems you mention die out before they were supposed to?

I's hard to say, what the companies creating these devices there planning for them.

But yes. They were all supposed to do better.

Not all of them.

The NeoGeo is a unique exception, because it's pretty much the only console in video game history that was never meant to be a massmarket product. As such it adopted a business model that is similar to luxury cars (like Ferrari). The expected small volume of unit sales was made up for by far higher profit margins on each console and game sold.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV (360+PS3) would outsell SSBB. I was wrong.

No, if it was $10 even more people would think Vita will fail, since Sony would go bankrupt in 10, 9, 8, 7...

LOL! I hate when people make an excuse like this. XD That would mean Sony goes out of business... thats a pretty big fail.

WHY CAN'T THE VITA SUCCEED, CALL OF DUTY WHERE ARE YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

I think that this depends entirely on how you define success ...

Based on likely actions by Sony, I would say the realistic lifetime sales of the PS-Vita would be somewhere between 20 Million and 60 Million units. While the PS-Vita could do better, I believe it would require Sony to do things they realistically can not afford to do. At the upper end of this range most people would accept it as being successful, and at the lower end of this range most people would call it a failure.

It will do nice, but highly doubt it will take over the psp sales.
