Nintendo has announced the 3DS XL, an upgrade to the 3DS hand-held system and is set for release before August 2012 in Japan. This new system will be fully unveiled at this year's E3 show in June.

While details are a bit slim as of now, the announcement stated the console would incorporate a more advanced 3D screen that allows a wider viewing angle, and a 2nd circle pad, the system will also include 4G along with Wifi.

Nintendo says this new portable machine will "succeed" the 3DS series. As of March 2012, the 3DS console has sold 16 million units worldwide.

President and CEO Satoru Iwat said, he is excited what people will think of the upgraded 3DS successor that would have "Much better 3D screen" and use a 2nd circle pad. We are now happy we can confirm the rumors.

The 3DS XL will be unveiled, and playable, at this year's E3, according to a Nintendo executive in Japan.

"We wanted to give the gaming industry a head's up about what to expect from Nintendo at E3," Ken Toyoda, chief spokesman at Nintendo told the New York Times. "We'll invite people to play with the new device then."

You need to wait for E3 for that ;) . But a friend of an insider who works for nintendo who came to a bakery store that a friend of my friends cuz owns told his friend who told my friend who told my other friend who then told his friend. that it would only launch in pink and be priced at $179 xD
