I think this is a lot of wishful thinking by the OP/author.

Apple trounces Microsoft in the "hip/fashionable" category.

They just sold 3 million iPads in 3 days. I'd say that an indicator that the average consumer doesn't give a rats ass about what some tech blog writer thinks. Every Apple store is packed to the brim with people with every concievable demographic. No one goes out of their way to visit the Microsoft store (lol). No one is lining up for Windows phones.

The real reason Microsoft doesn't get any grief for also manufacturing products at Foxconn is not because of good PR ... it's because no one cares that Microsoft also makes products there. It's only a story because APPLE is associated with it.

The fact that Apple is getting so much grief for the Foxconn thing and Sony/Samsung/Microsoft/Amazon/etc. are not (they all use Foxconn) just goes to show if anything that people view Apple as very different from these other companies.

It makes me angry that those "I'm a Mac" commercials could be deemed effective. No other commercial campaign (aside from certain political ads. No other strictly commercial campaign) has made me want to put my foot through the TV.

Never seen a Go Compare ad then? I despise them. I'd rather spend an extra £100 on insurance than use them. GRRRR!!!

Most women are pretty lame and have simple minds.  They are more easily controlled.

lots of links does make an article more factual.

This is obviously a puff piece.

The bigger the company the more evil it is. This is an eternal and universal truth. As Apple and Google's brands surpassed MS's, the latter suddenly seemed less evil.

This.

Whenever anything is successful the haters are louder than the lovers and it seems the whole world is against it but it is actually successful. Microsoft was successful and evil. I wonder how people now tend to forget that MS also saves loads of your data, uses it for whatever they think is cool and tries to get its products and software to the top and not working with foreign products. Those companies are all doing the same after all and are therefore as evil as any other.
