With Halloween, it'd thought I'd watch / rewatch some asian horror films.
Rewatch :
Tale of two sisters - 8.5/10 first time watching this on bluray. Liked it a lot
Dark Water - 9/10 - Fantastic rewatch. Just brought the new release from Arrow, it's a bit too low contrast, but other than that it's a great bluray release.

Whispering Corridors - 7/10 - Never seen this before. Suprisingly good ghost story. Not much of a horror film though but that's OK with me.
Memento Mori - 7/10 Also liked this one. Bit more scarier than the first.
Whishing Stairs - 5.5/10 this one I didnt really like. Bit too goofy, which is typical of the early 2000s.

Keiner kann ihn bremsen, keiner macht ihm was vor. Immer der richtige Schuss, immer zur richtigen Zeit. Superfussball, Fairer Fussball. Er ist unser Torschützenkönig und Held.

I never watched Contact again after the first time I saw it. Really remember enjoying it though. Back when Jodi Foster was always surprising people by keeping her career going.^

i dont remember matthew being in it. all i remember is the ending in the capsule or whatever that thing is..

There is no way in hell that I'll see Justice League, not after Zach Snyder became the worst person to touch DC Comics since Frank Miller.

The boy and the beast 7.5/10
Entertaining movie, looks good. Not as good as Wolf Children.

Star Trek Beyond 5/10
Started out as a 6/10 movie, lots of stereotypes and cliches yet looking pretty. Last half hour was 4/10 at most. Krall and Jaylah just sucked as characters. Pretty light show anyway.
I guess Star Trek made with a 16 year old's vision is better than none at all :/

I recently started watching Star Trek Enterprise. It's actually better than I remember, perhaps the overall quality of sci-fi has gone down so much my bar is a lot lower nowadays... Atm there's Timeless, more messing with history than sci-fi, and Travellers, a different take on the premise of Continuum. People from the future take over current day people that were about to die to complete missions to save? the future. Not much sci-fi to that either. Crave tv hijacked Dr Who, so can't watch that anymore....

I started watching Oliver Stone's The untold history of the United states. It's really well made, dense in information, no fluff, very factual with lots of interesting footage.

I grew up in the Netherlands and also there the efforts and sacrifices of the Russians and slavic countries in WW2 were vastly understated in the history lessons. And of course Dutch colonialism was mostly white washed.
