That would be even more unlikely than announcing the last b&w or even silent film.
Maybe the last movie to be distributed on celluloid by Hollywood. Some people will always keep using 8, 16, 35 and 70mm film.

The new star wars movies are still going to be shot on film

As I suspected it's the distribution side that's abandoning film
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/cinemacon-christopher-nolan-talks-interstellar-691456

Paramount, which is releasing Nolan's upcoming film Interstellar in North America, recently announced it won't be sending out any more film prints domestically -- save for Interstellar, which opens this winter -- since the vast majority of U.S. theaters have converted to digital projection systems and can no longer play film.

"Film is the best way to capture an image and project that image. It just is, hands down. That's based on my assessment of what I'm seeing as a filmmaker," Nolan said
I have to agree, my recent trip to digital cinema was disappointing. Maybe one day digital projectors can reproduce 35mm film accurately, not yet.

Nolan remains one of the last filmmakers to shoot exclusively on celluloid. He's a big fan of Imax, and shoots parts of his movies with Imax cameras. He used those cameras more on Interstellar than on any other film he's done.
Too bad I have no clue where I could even find a theater with a 35mm movie projector around here :/

Planet Terror, that one with the machine gun leg. 8/10

Great fun. This is how you make a B movie. While shot with digital cameras the movie was artificially aged to be made to look like an over used 35mm print. They did a pretty convincing job, looks great on blu-ray. Nicely used to enhance certain scenes, and toned down in others. In the extras Rodriguez explains they raided Tarantino's own aged film collection to sample actual damage. The whole idea came from having double feature movie nights at Tarantino's place, where Quentin would splice together 2 movies with some old previews for a night of fun. I would love to visit :)
You can also get Planet terror on Death proof together with fake commercials as Grindhouse, but I decided to get them separate for the unrated extended editions and extras. Planet terror is more action packed, Death proof has more suspense. I like them about equally.

The blu-ray also includes a scratch free version, not as good, the 'enhancements' really work for this movie, commentary track, and audience reaction track. The last one sounds like it was recorded in a small cinema, different sound stage than the main track. The main Dolby True HD track sounds great, great soundtrack, very good surround sound activity. Some pops and cracks were added when the 'film' derails, all sounds convincing.

During the end credits, while they're going all out with old film effects, I was thinking of the old 8mm projector we used to have when I was young. Home video before vcrs, cartoons and holiday movies on 8mm reels. We had big box full of them and 10x more slides as well. No wonder I'm obsessed with home theater, I grew up with it.

Ah I found it, the exact model I used to play with growing up.

Ofcourse didn't get to see anything like Planet terror back then.

You have to be in the mood for a bit of nonsense. I watched it again today for the commentary track. They produced it low budget in a short time and just had fun with it, and it shows, ie the fun part :) Using items out of their own wardrobe, Tarantino dropping by now and then, behind the camera and in front, getting Bruce Willis for 2 days, putting his own son in the movie and killing him off without telling him.
Apparently Machete was just a joke commercial at that point, to set the tone of the movie. Might be fun to watch too.

No, it's the last film to be shot(partly) and shown(somehow wide) on 15/70mm IMAX film.
