Have hapenned that You're waiting for the release a lovely looking jRPG on your system? one of those that little publishers sometimes take risk to translate them and then don't sell enough to risk translating the sequel or a similar game? Are you one of those that loved Valkirya Chronicles and VCII and are you waiting for VCIII coming out to the US? Are you just a sucker for jRPG or Anime looking games? If your answer is Yes, mat be, you will be interested  on supporting this project:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1272149684/class-of-heroes-2-deluxe-for-the-psp-system

The iniciative comes from MonkeyPawGames and is the first for funding a translation project, in this case Class of heroes II for PSP.

http://monkeypawgames.com/2012/03/prove-your-j-rpg-fan-power-help-support-our-kickstarter-campaign/

The first games was published by ATLUS on US market and yesterday droped price on PSN store up to just 15$

I will fund some 20$ on this project.. not for getting the game, is for supporting this Idea and the probabilty to seeing with other games of interest like Valkirya Chronicles III, Queen's Blade, Legend of Heroes Trails in Sky II and III and others...

And You, What you think of this Idea? Will be a success? Currently they Have 21k+ of 500k needed with 29 days left.. Do you think they'll acomplish this? What other games You  would like to see funded?

I fully support systems like these (Hell I'll even be giving a shot at getting something "kickstarted" myself this year), they're great funding platforms for games that might otherwise not be released due to "not being popular enough" or the simple fact that some indy developers etc just need some funds to get their game started that they don't have themselves.

I've contributed to about 5 "crowdsourcing" projects so far, and fully intend to continue to do so.

I have already 60 in this... thanks to noctis^^

You can find me on page 3 of the backers^^

they need 500k to translate one game? Wow, that's a lot. How many months/weeks/days since this campaign started?

Either 1 or 6 days I believe, I can't remember exactly, but I think kickstarter works on either 30 days or 35 days.

That's great then! Maybe it's possible! I was thinking it would be impossible after seeing "only" 21k were donated.

Little-known PSP niche title? As much as I love the idea of this being translated, raising $500k for it isn't going to happen. 100k if they're lucky.

That the goal is that high indicates this isn't just translation: this is full publication, distribution, etc. If they want this translation to happen at all, they should downgrade to $50k and simply fund a translation patch vs. full release.

Not to say I don't see this working for *other* JRPGs. But it'd have to big-name on a platform with more suppor for actually buying games.

Well, this is basically about them wanting that more JRPG-niche titles get full releases in the western countries, and that is something I support, but looking at what they are offering for the top tier... that will cost them about 5k alone (the top tier is 50k and is only offered at their website)...

On another note: it looks like the thing is still at its first day...

I support that more than anything. You're talking to a guy who played Tales of Rebirth and Fire Emblem 6 (among other) without a translation patch despite not knowing Japanese.

I'm just saying, it's tough to imagine a game nobody's never heard of on a system not many people still buy games on raising 500k. Like I could see Tales of Xillia doing this in a week; Class of Heroes II, not so much.

Yeah. Most of people don't see 500k hapening.. But they need 16.66k daily to reach the 500k and rigth now at the end of the FIRST day they have 24k+ already.. surely some other days will have less pledge than this.. But I think is still possible...

and yeah the game is not Valkirya Chronicles III, but is more what this process mean.. if it's a succes we could see more of these projects with more relevant games... Is niche.. yeah.. But rigth now anything japanese not being Final Fantasy, mario bros. or Metal gear Solid is Niche...
