Forums - Nintendo Discussion - WiiU need some type of Achievement/Trophy system

The difference between the current Trophy/Achievement system and a "collect 120 starts to unlock more levels" scenario is the e-penis thing.

They want it published so everyone can see how big it is.

That means if you don't like it, you have a small e-penis.

I love how people say achievements get people to finish the game or play the games more. Funny, I thought the game being good was supposed to keep one's interest. If you need achievements to keep you interested in a game then you are playing the wrong game. Simple as that...  If you need some stupid alert telling you accomplished something in game to feel more rewarded about playing the game then you might as well buy an ipad and declare it the best gaming system ever.

Bingo.

Now granted, I will sometimes go for achievements, but only if I enjoy doing it. I know some people that bust their ass going for difficult achievements and don't seem to have fun doing it, or will go for really tedious/easy achievements just for the sake of showing off the gamerscore. What's the point of that?

I wouldn't say the WiiU needs an Achievement system since the people who'd want it the most would be the one least likely to purchase it over a 720/PS4. They wouldn't want to restart from scratch.

I find kinda sad that the only reason some people will continue playing is because of some virtual ego-stroking.

They should have a sticker collection type of achievements, so you can show off your stickers to your friends.

Seriously though, they don't need achievements.
