That was really good, a nice twist on that aspect of that episode. The only thing that I didn't really like was Pinkie. I guess bobbing for apples (the party game, ponies were proven to share it in the NN episode) would have been too much of a stretch though?

One thing about "The Best Night Ever" is that Applejack should know that hers is a bad idea. It's generally rude to bring food to a formal, catered affair (while for a more casual party, it's often rude to *not* bring something), but it would certainly be rude to use a formal event to sell stuff.
As for Fluttershy, not sure why she couldn't just ask to go see the gardens at some other point. I'm sure Celestia would have let her...
