If they're nice enough, and don't appear to have a hidden agenda (to take over) then sure, why not help them out. In return they could help us out with space travel technology!

lol well I would be very skeptical if aliens came needing help. If they have the technology for space travel and the equipment to survive on our planet (assuming they aren't regular oxygen breathers like us) then I don't see how we could possibly help them...and I would wonder if they are just here to colonize us. 

I don't think it's fair to just assume they are coming to kill us all though! 

what if these aliens were attacked by another alien species and they managed to escape to earth with no supplies and no functional weapons at all. maybe earth is the closest habitable planet their fuel could take them from wherever they are in their space gurney

people seem to think that just because your advanced that you won't run in to problems at all >_>

and for those who ask well there are a number of ways to help them. Treat wounds, give them food and water, a place to stay
