So let’s say what happened in District 9 happened for real how would you treat them?

Would you want them too leave as soon as they can and treat them bad while they are here or actually try to be supportive and help them out?

or would you just kill them all even though they mean us no harm?

What I personally think people will want is that they go away as soon as possible and many would want them killed.

As humans we fear the unknown and how we treat each other as humans is evidence enough that most people would want them dead or gone as soon as possible.

Its like how the white people treated the colored ones and vise versa or how we treat foreigners from other countries  

It depends on how they treat me. If they want to stay here, sure, why not let them.

I definetly wouldnt kill them or threaten them in any way. You dont know what kind of society+ power there is behind them.

The fact they arrived on our planet means they have some kind of energy supply and propulsion system which could erase all of humanity in a flash if this wa released on earth. The power neccessary for interstellar travel dwarfs everything we got on earth. Maybe Antimatter drive ? 1 ton distributed over the planet would sterilize earth.

Best choice is to do everything they want and research their technology on a global scale.

If they managed to get to earth, they are hundreds if not thousands of years ahead in technological and scientific knowledge, that kind of information would be priceless.

I would definitely help them if they shared that information with us and taught us everything they've learnt. If they refuse to give us much information, I would still help them, and just hope they decide to give it to us later. 

And I think we would definitely let each other experiment with each other, as long as it's mutually beneficial and the people/aliens being experimented on are volunteers or dead.

I imagine our governments would be kissing their asses, competing to be to first one who gets the alien tech

It was able to reach Earth = way more advanced than us = how could WE possibly help THEM?

study/observe them, kill them, take their technology, study it, copy it, improve it, go to their planet and try to conquer it

I wouldn't trust them for a second. However, if they'd plan to kill us/take our planet/enslave us/do whatever the fuck they may want, they'd likely succeed anyway. So... we might as well try to make friends with them while we're still alive! :D
