@Basil Great response, and I must agree on most parts. Saving relatives obviously would go before any stranger, even if it's another race. However, let's say that there's a dog that you've owned for +5 years and a human stranger, then the human would be the obvious choice, right?

What? No way. Why on earth would I save a complete stranger before my own dog?

Dog is man's best friend and blood is thicker than water.

At the moment, human life can't be replicated exactly as is, you can't make a backup copy of someone in case they die or something. With robots/machines you can, so if you can make more of the same thing, it's still humans >> them.

If it were a new species or something, they'd probably be the ones who get to live lol

Free because almost anyone can jizz inside a woman and get her pregnant.

...are you related to your dog?

This is tupid really, I'm talking about computers hundreds and even thousands of years in the future. Those computers will definitely be several times smarter than the human brain and will be able to run themselves (unless humans stop them/makes them incapable of doing that, which they probably will in most cases).

1 year or 1000 years from now?

the way things work is by logic

you don't seem to be a technicle person atall you you jst aren't understanding how things work.to understand how things work, you need to study the root or start of the problem.

what you are thinking is fantasy which is shown in movies which is false

Wow, you seriously think it's impossible to make computers that are capable of doing the very same things as brains can? I don't want to be rude, but that's just stupid.

they can do the same thing our brains do but we will have to give them the order

its not rude or stupid, its called critical thinking which you absolutely have none.

lower your arrogance and research when you don't have much info or you will laughed at if you met any intelligent people in your life.

You know, I have one thing I want to say, and the thought comes to my mind every time I see people indicate that we are the most intelligent animals on earth.

What determines us to be the most intelligent animals on Earth? Isn't it none other than our own definition of intelligence, and to dive even deeper into it, our own interpretation of ourselves according to said definition?

So, according to a definition created by humans, and an interpretation made by humans, humans are the most intelligent animal on Earth.

Intelligence is nothing but humans own interpretation of things. Who's to say other animals don't think we are stupid as hell for some of the things we do? How many animals completely devastate other animals habitats, with only money in mind, and not seeming to care at all what will happen to the animals? How many animals completely destroy the relationship that has existed that allows animals to balance each other out, and not drive each other into nonexistence? How many other animals have complete all out wars where they blow the shit out of each other over the stupidest of arguments (My religion is the right one, not yours, lets fight!)

No, I'm not some animal freak (or an environment freak, for that matter...I couldn't care less), but humans need to get the fuck over themselves. Any supposed intelligence we have is easily countered by the apparent stupidity that is also in every one of us.

OT: I personally don't think humans are that "valuable", mostly for the reasons above. Yes, I love my family, and would be absolutely devastated to see them leave, but in general, I don't put any more value to Bill Gates than I put to the squirrel running through my backyard.

Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.

Now, that was rude.

And how the actual fuck am I supposed to do research about how computers look hundreds of years from now? Do you lack basic logic in your reasoning? All I am saying is that computers and robots are in fact getting smarter/more advanced every day, and they will and even in some cases are capable of acting without any interaction from humans. So brain-like computers will probably exist.
