You mean given away.

Don't think so. It has probably been downloaded a lot more than that if the free version is counted. And it's only 99 cents, so not that hard to believe

Ah okay so people bought the ad free version for 99 cents.  I just assumed the paid and free versions were grouped together to make the all powerful numbers statement.

LOL, and I bet this game sells 10 times the copies that SMG 1 and 2 did combined!

At 1/60th of the price.

Wait a sec...  People actually buy Angry Birds?

Mate...Rovio are worth over $1 billion. Because of this one game.

Incredible. I have a hard time believing even Mario would have sold 100m copied, whether NSMB or Galaxy for 1$ a piece.

Now all they need to do is slowly higher the price to make more money. And with the increased gameplay complexity (improvement), this is an interesting case of low-end disruption.

I don't think the free version has all the levels of the paid version either.

This is what I found:

"By November 2011, the game had reached 500 million downloads, including Angry BirdsAngry Birds Seasons and Angry Birds Rio."

"Based on a sample of American consumers, 45% went onto purchase the paid version of the original Angry Birds game. That is a very high percentage for freemium purchases even at the tier 1 price point"

If you apply 45% across the board and use that to figure out a likely amount of revenue from sales, you get revenue of $222million from 500million downloads.

This ain't got d»ck on Mario.

Ask stefl1504 for a sig, even if you don't need one.

This really should not be considered to Super Mario Galaxy. If Super Mario alaxy was 99c it would have sold way more than 100m, I'm just saying......You really cant compare a 60 dollar game to a 1 dollar game. Huge difference

How so? Wii hasn't even sold 100m!

NSMBii sold about $25 million. Angry birds has had about 500 million downloads.

NSMBii revenue >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Angry Birds Revenue.

Although, to be fair, alot of AB's downloads were free, but such is the IOS/Android market.
