Hmm i am just not able to finish Mirror's Edge. I guess over rated for me but the visuals are great.

Underrated: Call of Duty. Everyone loves to hate on it but there is a reason so many people are playing it. They are playing it so much that they don't go on random forums like me and defend it. Okay this is the only forum. The gameplay is smooth, getting into a match is insanely fast. I love the uncharted but boy it takes long to set things up. The connection on the latest has been super strong, the balancing of perks and killstreaks is really well done. Try that on any other competitive shooter. An average or decent player just gets destroyed.

So yea it got off topic but things like that has to be mentioned. People love to pick up on the big players. Today the new ipad got announced and on every website there are million people calling it all sorts of bad names. Anyways just my thoughts. Most are just going to skip over my most as i am not famous as Rolstoppable and such.

Cheers :)

Don't worry I wont ignore you. I completely get and respect your opinion on COD and I understand where your coming from. Even with my personal opinion of COD being overrated I do agree with your points and the game does do more right than wrong. I guess I'm just tired of the franchise as a whole, but I still play COD4 occasionally because the multiplayer was so damn good and original.

Thanks for being mature and trying to see my point. When i ask people who hate COD what is the problem with it; they usually don't have a good answer other than just stating it comes out every year. The fragmentation is certainly there and a big risk of becoming the next guitar hero. I guess i am getting there in terms of franchise fatigue where you are as i started it a bit late with MW2. So this year's iteration would be hard sell to me.

Happy gearing in your american nightmare. :)

I feel ya. Trying to get the OP to give a legit reason why Halo is overrated is almost like asking him to put a gun to his head and pull the trigger. I guess it's not going to happen. Atleast when I say why COD is overrated imo I have the history of playing cod 2,3,4, W@W, MW2, Black-Ops and combined hundreds of hours of play time. All the OP played was 5-10 matches online lol. It would have been better if he just lied so it wouldn't make him look so bad.

American Nightmare is awesome. Good single player and awesome Fight til dawn. Highly recommend.

haha I don't have to lie even when I have anonymity. If you want a legit reason i already stated one. a game shouldn't sell well based on the name but sadly thats something the COD and Halo franchise have in common. A lot of people agree that halo is overrated just look at the votes.

Fable for sure. This is an average game, not that bad, but definatly not good, and it's selling 3-4 million with every iteration without bundling? No!

After that Metal Gear Solid. This isn't a game, it's a movie, and a really stupid one. The total gameplay in each iteration is <5 hours, MGS2 literally took me an hour and a half when I skipped the 8 hours of cutscenes.

I mean, there is no such thing as a long range magnet which repels bullets....that's not even remotely possible.

Can't talk about Halo, because i've played really few time in that game, but the small amount i played impressed me, maybe was just luck, maybe not, so i can't agree or deny about Halo.

CoD, GTA, Infamous, Uncharted and LBP cross to my mind thinking about overrated. The first one if not online doesn't worth a cent, the second and third bored me. Uncharted is a weird choice since i loved the first two, but the third was my biggest dissapoint in the 2011 :(. LBP had a lot of great ideas, you can create a lot of levels, but if the gameplay besides creating isn't fun the created scenes are hard to enjoy and that happened to me.

Which gaming series do you think is the MOST overrated? & include reasoning.

Without a doubt on my mind it goes to Halo. why you ask? welll.....

Halo: Combat Evolved
Halo 2
Halo 3
Halo Wars
Halo 3: ODST
Halo Reach

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary

TBR: Halo 4,5,6

I'm completely convinced that the Halo series is the most overrated, it seems that you can put the name Halo on any game and immediately sell well. Which unfortunately some people think that sales=quality

No.

Call of Duty by a long shot.  They barely update the game, ship it as a new product, and sell 10s of millions of copies.  I blame the Canadians.

the game I don't like are all overrated and the game I like are all underrated

reviewers should take notice

You are trying to make sense of things in Metal Gear Solid universe. Good Luck :P

The ending of 4 still peeves me. I was like okay fine when the game ended. Oh wait there is more, more and more. Now i am confused and lost out of my mind. :)

Ok my two cents:

Halo, definately is one on the most overated series out there. My reasons? i found the single player very boring. Didnt like how it felt when you shoot. I didnt like the way microsoft allowed bungie to release a sub HD game on a HD console, when they insisted on every other company make their games at least 720p. Halo 3 was not even close. ( Although i do know microsoft have allowed loads of titles since then sub HD, but at the time they didnt).

I always found the gameplay shallow in single player, but i did really enjoy multiplayer.

COD. I was a huge fan up until black ops, and then i realized how stupid i was to keep giving activision 50 bucks for the same game, year in year out, its the same reason i stopped buying fifa and pro evo and guitar hero, it got ridiculous.

Elder Scrolls???? now i have to admit that im not an RPG fan, i find them boring, ZELDA is probably as far into RPG as i would go, and i konw its more of an adventure game than RPG. But i found Elder Scrolls very dull and boring, even graphically.

Gran Turismo. I just found the driving mechanic boring. Slow paced.

Zelda OOC (just ocarina, not the series as a whole). I am a massive zelda fan, one of the biggest, but i simply cannot warm to this game. I konw most people will think i am mad, but i really didnt like it. I found the dungeons too small. Camera was a huge hinderence. Some very very obscure puzzles that didnt make sense and i found myself completing them mainly by accident. yet i love the rest of the series,

Again, only my own opinions, not trying to offend anyone who loves any of the above, everyone has different tastes. I for one love Mortal Kombat, but im sure there are plenty of people who would smack me for that.

It's COD obviously, look at the facts, it has the same gameplay and graphics every game.

1. COD
2. Halo
3. Madden
4. GTA
5. Mario
